There doesn't seem to be any discussion of this yet, but next year, from the creators of Human Target, comes this Starz show about Captain Flint's adventures 20 years before Treasure Island.
McCreary says of his music for this show that it is "the most unusual and insane score I’ve ever written." Don't know if the show will be any good, but definitely curious to hear what McCreary has to bring to the pirate genre!
The series will premier on Starz in January. Toby Stephens stars as Captain Flint. Even before the series has aired, Black Sails has been renewed for a second series.
The main title, with a prominent hurdy-gurdy, sounds very much like a sea shanty and has a very McCreary flavor to it. I'm down for whenever the soundtrack comes out.
