Actually, its an interesting poster because a very common trait back then with the Italian films - which featured usually American leads, but also Italian, French and Spanish and German actors - often depending on the country where they were being promoted for, they bumped the actor's name or picture to get more bums on seats. EG; Whenever William Berger was in a western film his name and pic had its profiled raised, ditto Klaus Kinski. If you notice in this Japanese poster, it is the samorai Tetsuro Tanba (of You Only Live Twice fame) given the most prominent position.
