Does the expanded stuff lean toward the Barbieri small-group stuff, or the larger ensemble, or both?
Sorry to answer so late, Onya, but I had only just gotten the Digitmovies CD weeks ago.
The bonus section (which are cues not on the initial album) appeal to me more than the tracks of the LP program.
Never saw UNA BELLA GRINTA nor ever owned the prior versions of Umiliani's soundtrack, but the newest edition is very good.
The selections which come after the LP cues are more intense and descriptive of desperation.
The instrumental ensemble does not seem, to me, to change - so I guess it's the "larger", to use your term.
The Digitmovies booklet also includes a few photos of female fashion models (I'm guessing they're models) wearing black lingerie complete with stocking tops and garter belts. 
Ah, 20$ well spent then!
