The question's certainly been raised - and answered - before, but there's a plethora of Kritzerland-related threads, so I can't find it.
Why "Kritzerland"? La-la-Land I get. = Tinseltown = Hollywood.
But "Kritzerland"?

To be specific, Kritzerland is named after the middle book in what began as a one-off novel and became a coming of age trilogy (basically about my childhood in LA). The first book is Benjamin Kritzer, the second is Kritzerland, and the third is Kritzer Time.
Back in 2005 when I finally decided to get back in this game after the debacle of Fynsworth Alley, I came up with a list of names I thought were okay, not one of which was available as a domain name or a trademark. That's what usually happens. I pondered and then realized I just liked the sound of Kritzerland and that was mine own and the domain name was obviously free because I'd already taken all three book names. And that's how Kritzerland was born.

Multi-talented indeed! Books, CDs and live shows. Which reminds me, he has a monthly show at the Federal in North Hollywood the first sunday of the month that I go to religiously (when I am not being operated on).
Which reminds me this month is one of those rare film music nights with Gene DePaul (SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS) as composer of the month, with Meredith Wilson. Try it once if you are not allergic to lyrics. Also the odds of bumping into a composer like Richard Sherman is very high.

It's VERY high in August, since Richard will be there - and it's even higher in November when our show will be our very first encore show - The Sherman Brothers Album, in honor of the release of Saving Mr. Banks.

I do not know Bruce of course but he seems to be a guy who truly loves the life he has and gets as much out of it as he puts into it - which seems to be endless energy and joy.

No, thank you for the lovely post. I do love my life - I can't say it's always been a walk in the park, but I really don't think I would change anything because even the bad stuff has taught me how to be strong, how to overcome, and how to keep surviving in this strange universe. It's why I wrote my two memoirs - just to show that when everything seems very dark, there are ways to come back into the light if you're willing to just look in all directions. But to be able to bring music, that's been a gift and a half - since 1993, whether my own productions or just reissuing incredible music. Sappy it may sound, but I am thankful every single day that I get to do what brings me pleasure and makes me happy.

WAIT A MINUTE!
Bruce, you directed, wrote and starred in The Creature Wasn't Nice, AKA Naked Space?! My God! I have that movie and didn't know that until I looked up your impressive resume on IMDb. Huuuuge Nielsen fan over here and I remember very well when this movie was released in my country under the name of Naked Space (cashing in on the Naked Gun movies, obviously) in the mid 90's. First-day rental for our family since we'd grown up watching Nielsen movies. I haven't seen the movie since, even though I bought it a couple of years back, and the only thing I remember about the movie is that we were so surprised that it was nothing like we'd seen Nielsen in before. Only image I remember is a (pink?) space monster breaking out in song and dancing while Nielsen and crew just watches.
You must have great stories to tell about working with that wonderful man and his fart machine.
I tell ALL the stories in my book, "There's Mel, There's Woody, and There's You" My Life in the Slow Lane. I loved Leslie - it was just perfect casting, since he was just basically reprising Forbidden Planet. His machine was constant and hilarious. Patrick MacNee, who I adored, said to me one day, "What does Leslie eat for lunch?" And Cindy Williams' mom took me aside and said, "Does he have problems - I can recommend some vitamins that might help."

Hilarious! Must get your book, then. Thanks for the tip. The fact that he kept a straight face through all those farts makes it even funnier. Most people would feel awkward having everyone think you fart all the time, not Leslie!
