There are 2 versions of the film the long version and recut version featuring kamens rescored sequences. Keep 'em coming! I have been completing the Blu-ray Arrow titles on my wishlist in the last month and the new Lifeforce will definitely be an addition! Both cuts of the film include an isolated score & effects track. Both cuts are also 1080p and have two audio options: PCM 2.0 Stereo and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1. I've watched a few minutes of both cuts and I don't hear any disortion on the audio. Here are the specs. The discs are region B only. LLL (La-La Land) should be BSX (Buysoundtrax).    Posted:   Jan 8, 2014 - 2:13 PM     By:   Francis   (Member) Just finished watching for the first time the theatrical cut of Lifeforce and it's odd to hear the Kamen material mixed with the Mancini, especially the synth cues feel out of place. What I did like about this cut is the pacing as I've always found the director's cut to be on the slow side and tedious at times. With the exception of the opening which I prefer extended, the theatrical cut moves along great and for me worked better. It's still a flawed movie but the visuals, the music, the mood it creates makes it worth revisiting and especially these transfers are gorgeous! I checked out the isolated music and effects tracks, they are a fun feature. Mancini gets praise from the actors mainly in the featurettes, even Mathilda May recounts being impressed with the music. I haven't listened to any of the commentaries yet. I turned it off after 5mins. - Sullivan is like an annoying kid who won't just let Hooper talk, and not in a fun, spirited "I'm a fan and it's so cool I'm watching LIFEFORCE with the director!!" but just....annoying. The Sullivan commentary starts with him gushing about how Scream Factory has restored the movie with Hooper, which is total B.S. MGM restored the movie and brought Hooper in; I should know, since I sat next to Hooper during the transfer! Like films1 said "not totally the best way of listening to the music but interesting nonetheless.", that's what I would say about that extra on this release as well; I watched the opening of the extended cut (the whole space prologue) with that track on and I have to admit it is IMO a fun feature. I have the BSX release anyway with the score so not that bothered they didn't do a proper isolated score. I'm curious as well....    Posted:   Jul 31, 2014 - 1:40 PM     By:   Francis   (Member) From reviews comparing both: Bloody disgusting: On Shout Factory’s Blu-ray, the Theatrical Version is regulated to the special features section on the same disc. Its MPEG-2 transfer was better than expected but still offered lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 audio. Arrow rectifies this by putting the Theatrical release on its own separate Blu-ray. It features a first-rate MPEG-4 AVC presentation that matches the one seen in the International Version. Again, we are given two audio options DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and LPCM 2.0. They’re both stellar and big improvement over Scream Factory’s. DVD active: As with the video, the theatrical cut's audio is also technically superior to the US disc, featuring as it does both DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and LPCM 2.0 soundtracks (the US is Dolby Digital 5.1 only). The lossy 5.1 track on the US disc reportedly has a few quality issues – tinny, hollow sound being the common criticism – but the UK disc doesn’t appear to be similarly afflicted. I did find that the surround channels had a much greater tendency to drown out the dialogue than the longer cut of the film, but this could easily be due to the original sound mix. Again, Arrow has improved on the Shout!
