Thanks for that - our old pal Oblicno actually brought it to my attention yesterday. A fascinating portrait of a world that no longer exists. I'd moved away from Leeds by the 1970s but am back near there again now, and like many cities across the UK it's had a major facelift since then.
It's a pity they chose the city market picture to represent Leeds as it is now, because that's a scene that hasn't changed in 100 years. There's a shiny new retail area bang in the heart of the city that has transformed it again, with trendy bars, lots of upmarket shops (to join our Harvey Nicks) and best of all an Everyman Cinema with sofas instead of seats...
