Dear Yor,

We all have opinions and we can learn a lot from many people on this forum, but I would like to kindly ask you to try to be a tad nicer and less harsh on some topics. I'm no one of any importance, but I do know you could lighten up a tad so we can again bring the moral on this board up a bit. We can all dislike this or that, whether it be a composer, food, band whatever, but it's all in how you present you opinion that can actually get through to folks while at the same time making you sound like a thoughtful caring person.

Would love to enjoy reading your notes again, but the many threads you start and/or post in I believe are bringing the positive vibe that many of us try to bring and keep on this board down.

Come on man, we're all counting on you for some thoughtful fun nice threads!

All the Best,
Peter Hackman

Peter - Very well stated. Posts, and many comments on this board trend more negative than positive. It would be nice to see that reversed.

I have a very easy philosophy. I post as if the person was in front of me, if you TRULY would say some of the more harsher stuff to some of these talented composers, by all means keep posting. I know for one I wouldn't.

There's enough negativity and sadness in the world. Let's come together at least in this small community since we share such a UNIQUE interest, film music.

I can't tell you how much I've learned from folks. I wasn't the biggest John Powell fan, I just wasn't getting his music. Then after hearing a lot of people tell me why they like him, it made me want to re-examine his work and low and behold I'm a Powell fan of most of his stuff now.

You can learn so much on this board if you can have more of an open mind and an open heart smile

PS Thanks crogrr, are you in Redondo Beach? I just moved to Long Beach, isn't that close?

Peter, I admire your good will but remember it is directed at someone whose profile here is meant to be a tired repetitive joke allowing him to not only insult Zimmer but a lot of good people here, it also allows him to troll and get away with it under the guise of humor.

Granted, he may occasionally post a Goldsmith thread, I feel it is only done so he can claim he doesn't only post anti-Zimmer threads. Which he did again yesterday I see and it got locked down. Which he can't seem to stop doing, nor can he stop posting in Zimmer related threads and ruin them. It's like a drug to this guy and whenever I see his name as the last post on a thread, I know it will have turned bad which is what trolls do.

But people supportive of his anti-Zimmer hate spewing seem to not mind when he ruins those threads, because to them it's funny and deserved, yet when someone does it to their beloved composers and scores, ... you catch my drift.

I find people hiding behind a profile -only to provoke- sad and pathetic really.

Hi Peter, yes I am in Redondo, just south of LAX - a lot closer than Indiana (my dad was a born there)! I appreciate what you have done to bring the community together. Have greatly enjoyed the FSM & subsequent Fans conferences.

I always feel everyone is capable to making themselves better. It can take more effort and a lot of work, but we are all capable of it. Zimmer may not be everyones cup of tea which is fine and I'm sure he'd whole heartily agree. We all have opinions, but we have the ultimate decision on how we present those opinions to the world and/or our small niche community.

I can't tell you the amount of people I've met off of this board mainly because of Lukas Kendall who wanted us to get away from our screen to meet in person and for which I've been trying to keep going at the Fans of Film Music event. I've made some life long friends who have literally turned into family for me. I hope more of you can do that!

Agree with your comments peter.

Hope YOR reads these comments and reflects on the way he is.

I actually thought Yor and his posts were quite amusing early on, but lately, his boorish behaviour with facehugger - one and the same perhaps? - about Hans Zimmer has become tiresome and childish. I think he's lost a lot of goodwill from other FSMers with his silly tirade against HZ. Hopefully he will take note of things and go back to his more fun ways.

Well, it is a fact that, as in all forms of art/craftsmanship, there is a high percentage of works that are routine, mediocre or worse. Perhaps in film music, because of the time pressures (then and now) and the sometimes questionable qualification of the composers (then and now), even more so. As such, a ratio of comments that's slightly tilted towards the negative could be expected.

Surely you're not suggesting that only those who have favourable things to say about a certain score or composer (such as the frequent and highly informative "It's great") should voice them, while the rest should keep quiet. wink

Ahhh-and the third member of the little cabal chimes in, or are they all one-and-the-same person?

How is this thread not locked or moved to "Non-Film Score Discussion"?

I'm tired of the YOR bashing.

Yep, that's been my suspicion all along: Yor, facehugger, and Onlygoodmusic are the same poster. Is it just a coincidence all 3 show up at the same time in this and all those recent zimmer threads? Defending "each other" too? Lol it's obvious it's one in the same. Hilariously sad.

No. I'm just a citizen that stands up against the circle jerking lynch mob.

Yor grammar improve in recent months. At same time, Yor humor less showing through, more insult showing through. This year Yor really same Yor? Yor angrier now? Yor funnier last year. New Yor go back in time a year, be funnier read again. Merely suggestion. Funnier Yor more pleasant Yor, more insightful Yor, less ignored Yor.

You're wrong. You are a very, very bad detective. But I can understand how Zimmer fans need to rationalize their fear and claim that their beloved messter's music can only be criticized by one person. wink

Hilariously sad! wink

YOR is YOR.

YOR is always funny.

YOR always said nasty things about Hamzimmer.

YOR is glad that some inteligente people with good taste agrees with him most of the time.

YOR does not care that some people attack and offend him.

YOR is the man.

It is YOR's world!

Yor is Andre Lux who tormented the board back in the late 90's and early 2000's. Don't know why he has suddenly decided to return, but this time I'm happy to sit back and let him self-destruct, especially with the ignore function in place. So please, Andre, continue your 'schtick' and see where it will get you.
