Wow! Listen to the aggression on the new "Wall of Fire"! That is what I missed from parts of this rerecording. This score is dark and powerful and smoothing it out to make it prettier was no improvement to my mind. Instant buy!

I will hold off on this one and keep the old release. I do believe they are scrapping the bottom for titles that are not Disney.
I do not believe the re-mastering and few extra minutes is worth another $20.00.

Hey, if there are people who've been wanting it, why ruin their fun?

Then this would be a good CD for you not to buy!

Nice way to piss all over the thread, Kim Tong. Maybe you can say something positive to make up for your rude behavior. I for one am glad to see this release.

The silly thing being FSM had to dig till they had splinters under their fingernails to get through the bottom of a barrel to find the likes of you.

Looking forward to upgrade to this. I'd loved this score and its probably my favourite Goldsmith western. When Goldsmith and Botnick collaborated - the result was always fantastic. A pure joy!

A re-release of a long OOP disc with a bit of extra content is a bad thing now?

What a world we live in.

If you look closely, you'll see that Kim said they're "scrapping" the bottom of the barrel. Meaning they're throwing the bottom of the barrel completely away to concentrate on top-of-the-barrel releases like "Rio Conchos"! We had you all wrong, Kim!

Isn't freedom of speech and a personal opinion a wonderful thing....oops sorry not on this board, if you don't do backflips your pissing on a thread or being rude. Thought honesty was the best policy, as they say?

In reagrds to the soundtrack, not exactly my cup of tea but guess it's nice for those who wanted it (however I didn't see vast thread requesting it!) Just IMO.

I think Goldsmith had his say as to how this particular performance should be presented, so I'll stick with the original release.
I can understand (and welcome) expansions and reconstructions of actual soundtracks, but in a specially-produced re-recorded performance like this, conducted and overseen by the composer himself, we presumably have the exact content and presentation he personally signed off on, the way he expressly chose to have his performance heard. If Goldsmith specifically said he didn't want the 30-second End Cast to be heard in this re-recording, and rejected the inclusion of an alternative take of another track, I'm happy to do without them too.

I'll be slightly more diplomatic. For me, a few new minutes isn't enough to spend another $20 plus international shipping. I have both the FSM disc and the Intrada re-record already, and triple-dipping for the sake of the 22-second end title and a couple of extras (to a score I don't listen to very often in either existent release anyway) simply isn't in the budget. But I've absolutely no argument with it being there, for people who don't have it, or for whom that new material IS worth the money.

zooba here. Hey everyone!

The pleasant blue coloring on the new cover is quite nice. The white background on the original was a tad drab.

Bottom line. Nobody has to buy the watermelon ever. Happiness to all!

With this I agree. It is great music, but I am not going to pay $20 for 22 seconds of music and a few extras. Hope those who do not have it enjoy it, but my money can be saved for another release. I don't care for watermelon, I am a cantaloupe girl.
