One of the best Zimmer scores. Could be his finest action score. Love it to death, play it to death. One of my first Zimmer CDs, too. TONS and TONS of awesome music left off the CD, and alternate versions in the film that were re-edited for the CD. The final act NYC nuke chase is f***in EPIC. Just such a fun, fun score, very melodic and thematic with killer electronics and only the finest in deep male chorus chanting a la Crimson Tide.
Would make a terrific companion to the expanded Broken Arrow discs!

Exactly. I, personally, think this is Zimmer at his bombastic peak. The many melodic motifs are refreshing (in light of his more recent motif-less work—some of which I do actually like), as is the deep male chorus and the organised chaotic sequences. The only gripes I have with the commercial release are that it's incomplete, and the audio mastering wasn't as good as it could've been. But hey. I've heard all the music as heard in the film and loved it; I've also mixed the commercial score into a shorter ~30min album and love it. I think I could play it backwards and love it still.
I absolutely agree that it could be his very finest action score. While I love certain parts of his other action scores (including his more recent work with Nolan and others), this one takes the cake.

Awesome love for Peacemaker here. Warms me heart.
The 17-minute "Chase," a suite of chase material from the middle chopper/truck nuke chase and the NYC nuke chase, is a relentless masterclass in modern action scoring. Wanna get some exercise? Start playing "Chase" from the beginning. 17 minutes later, stop the cue and you'll be amazed at how fast you ran during that time.
Also awesome that Peacemaker features plenty of woodwind writing, which became outlawed or whatever in action scores by Bruckheimer or whomever for whatever dumbass reason. My point is Peacemaker is a perfect example that woodwinds can kick arse in a propulsive action score written by Hans (or whomever).
I really wouldn't be surprised if a 2cd of this score is in the works.

I never even bought the original Peacemaker soundtrack. Found it too noisy and intense. And I'm a Zimmer fan.
