Just a correction on the Marine Boy set. Warner Archive is offering 26 episodes as a 1st season (?) set, but Marine Boy was syndicated with 78 episodes. It's funny how companies have the need to break older shows into season sets. I grew up watching Marine Boy and Speed Racer in syndication and local stations just ran the series in their entirety.
And BTW, I liked Last Resort, but yeah, there was no way the concept could be sustained. I'm glad they had an ending for it. Andre Braugher really made the show for me.
Not accurate. Marine Boy was offered in its entirety only by 1968. It's was initially syndicated as a weekly in 1966 in a 26 episode package. An additional 26 was offered in 1967, then the full slate was stripped as a daily in 1968.
Always nice to see some positively about The Patriot. I just love that movie, especially the extended version, and the score (of course) is magnificent.
That and Stargate are the only Emmerich movies I really enjoy.

And you can look this up in Variety.
Okay. I stand corrected. by my own dim memory, I was probably was watching this in '68 or '69.

Regarding the DVD transfer of Marine Boy: I received vol. one and the transfer is excellent for a series over 45 years old. Colors are bright, sharp, and true. (It's not over saturated or washed out.) No bleeding, very little film grain and generally clean prints.
There are some film artifacts, dust & scratches, but you can't expect a Disney style re-master job. In fact many of the blemishes are actually from the animation film process itself. (Stacking cels on top of each other and cel jitter)
On a side note I think the reviewer meant "Kimba" but "Kima".
