I would. The main theme from the first film is delightful. I think I did a thread on this score a few years ago. Haven't been able to locate it though...
A set would be really cool. I've only seen the first film but I remember liking the score (and thinking the main theme sounded familiar). I don't know Jack Elliott but I know and like both sequel score composers...
I remember looking for a soundtrack when the movie was released, and being disappointed that there wasn't one. I remember liking the title music, but can't recall how much music was in the film.
I would buy it, I like the first film 's main theme. The opening credit music from the second film, and the very touching end theme from the second film. The third film nothing stood out much to me except of course that source end pop song during closing credits. I always wished, they made a TV series on those movies. Maybe it would have been too grinding for GEORGE.
Back in those days as you know even if the films are very popular, it didn't mean a soundtrack. For instance take 2 Marvin Hamlisch scores from very popular films of that era- SEEM LIKE OLD TIMES AND SAME TIME NEXT YEAR.
Which when you really think about it was even more unusual sine Same time next year had a top 40 song from Johnny Mathis-LAST TIME I FELT LIKE THIS. Even if there was not that much instrumental music in the film, they could have filled out an LP on it back then.Remember when they released SUMMER OF 42 ON LP, it was shared with THE PICASSO SUMMER theme?
