Over the years I notice sometimes thoughtful and good lines are spoken in movies, but I feel they did not fit the character who said them. Sometimes it is a case of a form of morality, a line where a better character should have said it. Sometimes it is a case of wisdom where a character is not portrayed as being wise enough to say such a wise remark. Off the top of my head - THE SHINING-80- When JACK NICHOLSON playing a maniac says to SHELLY DUVALL you whole life has been a mistake. Sounds like that line would work wonders if a good cop or judge said that in anger to a career hood type. At times it seems like ARCHIE BUNKER in ALL IN THE FAMILY were given at times some wiser lines not fitting of the type of character they tried to make him. Folks, any examples where you feel movie lines are out of place with the characters who used them?
