The other thing that is holding up this theory is that those re-runs are now suddenly (and out of the blue) available everywhere for absurd prices, like Ebay, amazon, Discogs, and we know how difficult these are to find, did we read anything about an official repress by some label, come on this is FSM for heavens sake? We should know about it some way or another. Is it on Jan Hammer's Website that these have become available again? i don't think so, why are you guys so naive, i really don't get it, even the polish Ebay guy is selling multiple sealed sets how crazy are we, you still believe these are legit?? Come on!! (as we speak: 2 on Ebay; 17 cd sets on Amazon US; 7 sets on amazon UK; 8 sets Amazon France; 2 sets Amazon Germany, that is a lot for a rare cd don't you think?!)

No one here is being naive.

The seller himself came on here and gave an explanation, which, whether you like it or not, is perfectly reasonable. Some people like to buy up a lot of stock and sell it at their own convenience. It's not a very nice thing to do, granted, but it's not illegal.

(And if you want to place all your faith on a dubious and unprovable Discogs entry, by all means you are free to do so. But that does not make it proof.)

Don't you remeber turn out LIAR promo by John Debney last year? Suddenly some seller has been selling 10 sealed copies (if I remember correctly $200/each?). Was it weird? Yes, it was. But then the buyers testified, that it were real things, factory pressed CDs. Just live with that, it's today's world...

This was only ONE guy who was offering this LIAR promo and never seen it anywhere else for sale, not the same thing!!, (and yes i bought one copy!wink) now you can find the Miami Vice cd's everywhere! You must admit that it doesn't feel right. But i think we will never look at it the same way. I don't care, the upside is that this title is now getting a bit less expensive maybe i can purchase me one oneday for a more reaonable price wink
What about: Let's ask Jan Hammer himself about this "new" re-release??

This was his answer, this should shine a light on this situation, or not?:

Miami Vice: The Complete Collection was manufactured by One Way Records in the USA from 2002 to 2005 and never re-released in CD format since 2005. The copies that you find on Amazon or ebay are either used or new (unused)original old copies. The CD or its packaging were never made or printed in Canada so I don't know where that came from. It is possible that there are bootleg copies out there but we have never seen any.

Jan was outraged that people were selling copies for hundred's of dollars. That is the reason for making the Complete Collection available as a digital download for under $20.

If you have any further questions feel free to contact us again.

Regards,

LKB for janhammer.com

So, missing "Made in Canada" on the back insert doesn't mean it's a fake, it's just US release. Many copies is weird, but it's not the first weird thing in the world.

At this point, the people to ask for further clarification would be the good folks at One Way Records. They are the manufacturers of the disc and its packaging. At any rate, I for one, consider the mystery solved. And I hope that whoever made that Discogs entry has the integrity to either correct it or remove it.

I sure hope this doesn't mean the "Made In Canada" copies are the fakes!! LOL
(Because I have no intention of getting rid of mine!)

From the otherside, if they want to make this copy looks perfect like the original, why put this text "Made In Canada" on the back,it puzzles me...interesting indeed!
