I was rewatching some KRAFT SUSPENSE THEATRE episodes (or, as it was known in syndication reruns, CRISIS), and thought, man, what a treasure trove of music by great composers. In this series, there are are scores by many of the greats, including Bernard Herrmann, Franz Waxman, Lyn Murray, Lalo Schifrin, and John Williams (who not only wrote several original scores, but also two different title themes for the first and second seasons). This is really an overlooked gem of television scoring. Have any of the great labels (e.g. Kritzerland, Intrada, La-La Land, Varese, etc.) looked into this? Honestly, there is some great music in many of these episodes.

well, I'm not so interested in the others at the moment, but as a John Williams completist, I would be very much interested in the Williams scores for this series. (maybe released in a Williams TV box set)

Funny but I mentioned this series yesterday in another thread - "TV One Hour Drama Scores - Then and Now " -
I didnt realize all these composers contributed to the series - I thought that Williams was the main composer.

It appears that Herrmann did score more than just the episode A LION AMONGST MEN. If you watch enough KRAFT episodes, you'll notice that if an episode does not have an original score, it is tracked with music from other KRAFT episodes, not other TV series. Well, quite a few tracked episodes contain Herrmann music that is not from A LION AMONGST MEN. Therefore, this seems to mean that Herrmann did at least one more episode, although I've never seen it. The guess is that it may be the episode THE LAST CLEAR CHANCE, but, unfortunately, that episode was not included when the series went into syndication, and hasn't been seen since the '60s.
