Author Vince Flynn who wrote a series of thrillers and served as an advisor to the series 24 died earlier today after a 2 year long battle with prostate cancer.
A shame, very talented man, common in the modern world we live in SLIM WHITEMAN dies at 90, MR FLYNN dies at 47. A world today where many more are living longer, but still too many are dying much too young. A age of extremes.
[startquote from Nightingale]Why did none of his books get made into movies?!
IMO, the plot and hero of the recent film "Olympus Has Fallen" bears a striking resemblance to Mitch Rapp in Flynn's 1999 book, "Transfer of Power".
Close resemblance indeed although it looks dumbed down to make it typical Hollywood. Also his books are definitely right of center. Protagonist Mitch Rapp uses methods of interrogation that are not in vogue in Hollywood, to say the least.
