While I can't argue with your sentiments on 1985's summer at the movies, I have to point out that Jagged Edge wasn't released until October - I still remember USA TODAY's Mike Clark grumbling on its video release "Adults, famished for grit after the junkiest movie summer ever, surprised industry analysts by turning it into one of last fall's few box office hits; in no other era of film history could this have happened." (I disagree, what with it only being the first usage of Joe Eszterhas's favourite plotline, i.e. hero falls in love with someone who may be a killer but isn't except he/she is a killer.) On the other hand, Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins.../Remo: Unarmed And Dangerous - depending whether you saw it in the US or England - which has "summer movie" written all over it, did get released when kids were back in school. Go figure.
