So the story goes that the original tapes were trashed some years ago.
Do we know if the full conductor's sheet is around?
Frankly, going by what's in the film, it sounds like a "smaller", very closely mic'd orchestra.
I'd love love love to have someone record this again and it would be fortuitous to do it now considering the fourth installment is coming soon.

If this project is possible, my vote would be for William Stromberg to conduct.
The score has a raw, string-driven, Herrmann-esque quality, and I could see him absolutely nailing it.
Or Nic Raine - his work conducting Jarre and Poledouris certainly proves he has the chops.
