I am talking here about the music itself, not what a recent thread said about the best opening credits ever. I will go with GIANT-56- DIMITRI TIOMKIN,although there are a bunch others I would consider. ANY CHOICES?

John Barry's The Dove, closely followed by You Only Live Twice, Superman: The Movie, and Jonathan Livingston Seagull.

Of Human Bondage, 1964 by Ron Goodwin. I am pretty sure that very few know the score, it's one of the best romantic scores ever but never been on CD and I think never will be, there is an old lp with some of the score on it.

I'd just like to add:

"Peyton Place" - Waxman

The main title theme just seems to open up deep emotions like a gleaming treasure chest -- it always moves me. Also, Rozsa's "Spellbound" for me at least.

And for a grand promise of deep emotions and epic feelings - you can't go wrong with either Steiner's "Gone With the Wind" or Korngold's "Kings Row". Also Herrmann's blood curdling main titles for "Sisters".

Lonesome Dove (Poledouris)

A gorgeous, nostalgia emoting tribute to the wide open ranges of the old west.
