Today I received an amazing gift - completely out of the blue.

I was sent some custom made cookies - cookies that were in the shape of, and decorated to look just like, my ukulele.

Have you ever received or given such a specifically thoughtful gift?

Neil, that is a very cool gift. Shows someone knows you well. Now the big question. Will you eat the cookies or keep them? Hope they sent you two, one to eat and one to keep.

Several years ago, my husband and I were in Europe for two weeks, and we were gone over Mother's Day. When we got home, I noticed new mats outside of my two entry doors. Inside, my whole house had been cleaned. Refrigerator, cabinets, every single drawer in the whole house, etc.
Turned out my mother's day gift was my two daughters driving almost four hours to our house to clean the whole place. They spent two days here working. Now that is thoughtful!!

I'll bump this. I think this is a nice topic, a place to post things that are positive, which doesn't always happen around here.

Surely some of you have given or received "thoughtful gifts." Please share.

Today was Father's Day and my dog Jay and I were out all day at the river Joan. When we came back, the house looked exactly the same as when we left - a real mess. I guess your two daughters got lost in Northern Idaho or stopped off at a Dairy Queen. Oh well, there's always next year for a clean apartment. Kidding aside, it is a nice topic Joan.

Hey Dave,

I guess my daughters got side-tracked not at Dairy Queen, but maybe a pub or winery. You made me laugh. I remember a few other gifts that I thought were thoughtful. I opened a few unexpected Christmas cards with handsome cowboys on the front....and they were from Montana Dave!
