Batman Begins

My life feels momentarily epic when I'm racing to work in the still dark hours of the morning, zipping down the off ramp and onto the deserted main drag with Molossus thrumming on my stereo.

The Young Lions (Friedhofer). One of those I forget for years, but always enjoy. It's one of the
few scores I enjoy from beginning to end.

I won't be getting the car until Monday. frown At least I have sometime to figure out how to "christen" it. So which cd would you play first?

Person of Interest.

Out of the car now, but I'm rediscovering Mr. Holland's Opus. Wow.

Finally got my car today. I had no cds with me. The old car died and was towed in. So tomorrow I get to break in the cd player and the Bose speakers. Today I was listening to Sirrus XM stations. Wish they'd bring back the film music channel.

Interesting request........Today's commuting lineup:

I was a bit nostalgic for 1980s John Williams........HEARTBEEPS (I just LOVE those End Credits)

Then something contemporary.............Fernando Velazquez.......THE IMPOSSIBLE

Then the new Kritzerland Franz Waxman trifecta......ELEPHANT WALK/BOTANY BAY/STALAG 17

Then something Christmassy......Henry Mancini's SANTA CLAUS (3-CD)

Then Mychael Danna's Oscar-winning LIFE OF PI (I never really gave it its true due).

It really was an easy choice as to which disc to put in the car CD player first. I sat down sorted through the stack of still shrink-wrapped discs. The DS9 box, the Trek original series box are in the stack, several recent Goldsmith releases, Cahill, The Shootist, Kritzerland's recent Waxman release, Schifrin, Jarre, Mancini,.....then I got to the recent Prometheus/Tadlow releases. Hour of the Gun...nope, but soon. Quo Vadis was the clear choice. What a stunning recording, what a sound system. smile I am only about 3/4 of the way through disc 1. Quo Vadis was the major reason I bought the Rozsa box.

Only one of these is really relevant to you guys, but here's what I've been listening to in the car this week...

That Rilo Kiley record is one of the greatest rock albums EVER...

This is once again one of those threads I really shouldn't be bothered with, and just leave it be, but I feel I must express the opinion of me and a few others:
I don't even have a car. Or even a person's licence to drive.

That is EXCELLENT driving music. I played The Dark Knight seemingly forever in my car last year.
