This is really one of the most beautiful pieces of music I've ever listened to. It has this serene quality, coupled with a deep emotional impact, which just gets to me and touches the soul, so to speak. What makes it even more special is how effortlessly the music seems to do this. I do so love Delerue's music...

Nice to see someone appreciates the great music of Georges Delerue, You said just about the same thing I said when I first heard it over 25 years ago.

I love the bittersweet parts, which is a great example of my beloved 'religious sound'. However, the suspense cues are a bit grating, as they usually are from Delerue.

To each their own. The WHOLE SCORE is fantastic IMO.

It's interesting, because I love the melodic melancholy of composers such as Morricone, Delerue, Illaramendi, Barry. But I find their suspense music rubbish for the most part. Lots of repeated, dissonant patterns ad nauseum. God, it drives me up the wall.

I got so desperate to listen to this awhile back that I took to listening to it on YouTube. Would also love a remastered release.

Well it is great YOU TUBE is there as a last resort. Many films I have caught on YOU TUBE, and sometimes their prints are top notch.

I found a new copy of this magnificent score. Should I get it? Or in this time of rererereleasing, should I wait for a new edition?

How is the sound?

This is a 1985 film, and a 30 minute Varese CD.

Is that it in its entirety, or is there more music to make an expansion worthwhile?

If you have the chance to buy this gorgeous album, I'd say go for it. The sound quality is fine, the album programme is great and the music is gorgeous.
While I don't know if it's complete, on the back it does mention that it contains music not featured in the film.
