If you have seen it, what age is it appropriate for?

I think it would be fine for a 12 year old.

However, a lot of the bodies are robot suits without operators inside. So while people do die in this film it isn't nearly as bad as a 90's film. There is also a kid character in this film that a young person may enjoy.

I was talking about the HUMANS killed in this film...

Rebecall Hall is murder point blank, James Badge Dailey is shot through the heart with a blaster by Tony on AFOne, the Extremis soldier blows himself up at Chinese Theater, Extremis Female Soldier murders a few people at the bar, and then Tony kills quiet a few guards at the Miami House plus while those Mark Suits are empty, they do kill a few of the bad guys first before blowing up.

And then there is oil tycoon that The Madarin executes on live TV

Well, yes. And no. Almost all of the deaths are off screen, or only partially seen. Kids have definitely seen much worse than this.

thanks for your thoughts on this. I am just not that comfortable with a lot of violence for my kids, I mean they have seen Transformers and things like that, which to me is cartoon violence with machines. Realistic violence and blood with real human bodies is different to me, more important to restrain that effect on our mind, as much myself as the kids.

Ironically you can see much worse on regular television. Jeez, bullets to the head are common place nowadays. In fact they censor almost no graphic violence or gore from the boob tube from what I can tell.

But show a woman's breasts or have the F-word spoken, and that's going too far! roll eyes

Yeah, makes no sense. There was this telefilm called Phantom Racer on Sci Fi. In it, a women got her head crushed like a melon by the weight of a car. But Sci Fi had shit fits over showing any skin in Moores BSG. (Sorry for going OT)

Blood and violence does not make people feel uncomfortable, nudity and sex can. Remember the blood and violence is just play acting, the other never is.

A certain situation. You have a wife or girlfriend she is an actress, she told you she did a violent scene today with stage blood and rubber knives- you have a girlfriend or wife she said she just did a seamy sex scene with her co-star where she will be seen naked by millions of people on screen soon. Be honest, you really love this girl, which really would bother you more.

Neither would bother me unless they bothered her, really.

yEAH, I was kinda shocked at all the gun deaths!!!!!!!
IN fact the film as a whole kinda shocked me at how uninspired the villian was.

Yet another mad scientist manipulating human dna to create an "improved" human???!!!
AND, regrowing missing limbs?!!!!
AMAZING SPIDERMAN 2 anyone?

It coulda been really good without a villian that breathes fire - what is this effin DRAGONHEART???!!

Up there with PACIFIC RIM as years biggest disappointments . Not even gonna bother seeing MAN OF STEEL now
frown
