One of my favorite composers who is not very well known around here is Tuomas Kantelinen. According to his web site he worked on a ballet recently called Ice Queen and he has been scoring a few films but I haven't seen anything released by him since Mongol and ARN Knights Templar. Does anyone know of any releases coming up?
He has recently signed to score a new movie of Mongol director, which he should actually co-score with A.R. Rahman... can't remember the name right now... but it might be quite interesting... He seems to be working constantly but for whatever reason none of his most recent works has been released... what a shame! But at least we get a dozen of pointless reissues every month from all the labels.
I'm attending a film music seminar in Trondheim, Norway, and had a nice encounter with Kantelinen yesterday, who is nominated for a HARPA award (Nordic award for film composer). Other great composers are here too.
His score for MINDHUNTERS is wonderfully eclectic. The film may not be for every taste (it's a guilty pleasure for me), but it's worth it to hear the music.

The movie is The Seventh Son which is based off a series of books called The Last Apprentice by Joseph Delaney...
...however I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Kantelinen & A.R. Rahman have replaced by Marco Beltrami
No surprise Kantelinen is getting rejected. He likes to write in the old school Hollywood style that we don't see much of these days. Hopefully at least one of his scores will remain in.

From what i've read, it was more of Kantelinen having schedule conflicts than a rejected score, but that was from wikipedia, so i could be wrong
Well, the movie obviously SUCKS big time and is being constantly delayed and pushed back - right now it seems it will take another 13 months before it is released. Although Kantelinen has completed his score last spring and Marco recorded his new score almost 2 months ago...
Hopefully at least Kantelinen's Hercules will get released, in the meantime his new balet Snow Queen will do.
