Unfortunately, you need to look at the Jan 19, 2015 post of this thread… http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=107799&forumID=1&archive=0 James said this: “This "good source" now says they might have been mistaken ... and that still only Mono elements have been found..... apologies for getting people excited ... but that i s why I decided against re-ercording Dracula...now "who knows" OK. Thanks Alex. That clears up the story but then Varese still has access to the stereo LP masters which were used for the cd issue. So why not release both the Mono and Stereo tracks together (with improved sound)? It would still make a great set. So James is probably waiting for the situation to clear up a bit more. Lets see. I'm hopefull some thing better will come to pass. Remember, Conan the Barbarian, how it was thought to be lost ? and in the end we got a stunning sound quality on that Intrada set. I'am being optimistic and hopefully just like the rest of the folks eager for this music. One Small Problem: Mr. Williams by most reports would have to approve it and that mix of mono and stereo might not go over too well with him./ Ford A. Thaxton

French conglomerate Vivendi owns Universal Music Group; Universal/NBC owns the current Universal Studios. I still think that the Dracula movie ownership, and the music publishing/performance rights, and the Deutsche Grammophon ownership are probably aligned corporately close enough to make this a go in short order, should the parties I've proposed want it to happen. To reiterate... That's John Williams' Dracula, performed by Gustavo Dudamel and the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, on Deutsche Grammophon, the label that Dudamel and the L.A. Phil are already under contract to. Now who else besides John Williams has to get in this casket to make this happen? Can no one address these questions?

In that case why dont you start looking for those stereo tapes in the meantime? Have you checked behind the couch?
