i know it is a no-no these days but those cigarette jingles from the 60's were my favorite, a whole bunch of them were nice and catchy. There was a choclate bar commercial that i really loved in the late 80's, real sweet melody with a girl in the snow.
Seconded on the Rodeo in the "Beef. It's what's for dinner" commercials that used to air.
And that Hershey's Kiss drops doing the "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" with the bells. That's been running for what? Over ten years now? I never get tired of seeing that one.
"Tinker Spell" Composer: Stephen Rees (Extreme Music)
"Clubbed to Death II" (unreleased remix) Composer: Rob Dougan
I have recently bought CD with CM works by Yasuo Higuchi (Phoenix 2772, Gundam X) and there are few amazing tracks and it is almost impossible to believe that they were composed for commercials.
Full CM track has 1:51
And my favorite music for commercial with Roy Scheider
I think this has got to be one of the most memorable and pleasant commercial jingles ever. If I understand the obituary correctly, it had its Coca-Cola-related lyrics changed, and was re-released as a hit single. Did that ever happen with other jingles (besides the Benson & Hedges one mentioned above)?
Yeah I caught the NY Times obit and had to laugh because I was 15 and the impact of this commercial had me buying both 45s of which neither could hold a candle to the ad. And to the Coke lyrics. Watching the original version still hits the gut. It caused quite a stir in its day.
Almost twenty years later this one stopped the music [heh heh] when it came on, too:
