He's asked about it from time to time on his forum and twitter, and keeps saying that it'll be released eventually.
He also intends on releasing a concert DVD from his live shows.
Thanks guys, I was aware he wanted to get the concert DVD out (and I'd happily buy it). I hope the rest Bear is referring to makes it out one day, I wonder what it is.
Here is a something to remember
The television series debuted in the United Kingdom on Sky1 on October 18, 2004, and premiered in the United States on the Sci-Fi Channel on January 14, 2005
So depending on how you read the calendar either the later portion of 2014 or very early 2015 would be the 10th Anniversary of the BSG Reboot..
I couldn't think of a nicer time to do it.
Ford A. Thaxton
Quite true! Although apparently another factor is simply lack of free time (which I mean, is a good sign for him... I know he's getting lots of work, and I always hope there's a chance of higher profile working coming for him)
Its a pity Bear didn't get to do Game of Thrones. What he could have done with that material over several seasons doesn't bear thinking about! Oh well, maybe in some alternate universe....

It would have been nice to hear, but I don't think they'd have let him. I think part of their musical approach has been to acknowledge that the show is already so stuffed and busy that they thought big music would have been too much.
Anybody else notice the brief quote of Caprica's "Graystone Theme" at the start of the cue "Becca's Past"? Surely it was meant to accompany her telling Adama that she'd worked for the Graystone Corporation, but in the show itself, it's dialed out.

Yes, and Bear McCreary mentions this in his blog here:
"In my original version of this cue, a solo alto flute quoted the “Caprica” theme over this exchange, as a subtle nod to that mythology. Though that melody eventually hit the cutting room floor in the film, you will still be able to hear it in the forthcoming soundtrack album."
Being on a "re-discovering McCreary´s GALACTICA work"-rush I am absolutely delighted how great all of this is. McCreary is to GALACTICA and its spin-off APRICA what Show was to Jackson´s Middle Earth trilogies.
