Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome (a prequel to the critically acclaimed hit series, Battlestar Galactica) takes place in the midst of the First Cylon war. As the battle between humans and their creation, the sentient robotic Cylons, rages across the 12 colonial worlds, a young, talented fighter pilot, William Adama (Luke Pasqualino), finds himself assigned to one of the most powerful battlestars in the Colonial fleet: the Galactica. Full of ambition and in pursuit of the intense action that the Cylon war promises, Adama quickly finds himself at odds with his co-pilot, the battle-weary officer Coker (Ben Cotton). With only 47 days left in his tour of duty, Coker desires an end to battle just as much as Adama craves the start of it. Though they clash at first, the two men forge an unlikely bond when a routine escort mission with an enigmatic passenger (Lili Bordan) turns dangerous and becomes a pivotal one for the desperate fleet.
Acclaimed composer McCreary returns to the BSG universe with his amazing musical arsenal, launching a breathtaking score that recalls his famed GALACTICA sound while energizing it in exciting new sonic directions. One of John Williams’ finest scores gets an upgrade from the previous Varese release, with a running time of more than an hour and fifty minutes and improved, stunning sound (especially on Disc 2, the original soundtrack album). La-La Land Records and Paramount Pictures present the world premiere release of legendary composer John Barry’s (GOLDFINGER, BODY HEAT, DANCES WITH WOLVES) original motion picture score to the Paramount Pictures 1977 feature film romance FIRST LOVE, starring William Katt, Susan Dey and John Heard, and directed by Joan Darling. Previously unavailable in any format, Barry’s lush score is a revelatory find – a masterful work of haunting beauty from one of filmdom’s greatest composers. Much of this notable score has never been heard, as only a small portion of it was used in the finished film. Produced by Neil S. Bulk and Lukas Kendall and mastered by Mike Matessino, who mixed the score into full stereo from the original 16-track tapes, this special release is limited to 2000 units and includes in-depth, exclusive liner notes from film music writer, Jeff Bond, that take the listener behind the scenes of this remarkable “lost” score.
