La La Land was confused about Breakhart Pass - in fact, what is on their CD is the complete score - the "missing" cue, which has been explained by Jeff Bond in the other Goldsmith thread, is a tracked in cue in the film (The Boxcar) into one of the final scenes. So, it's all there. Time will tell what our two releases are but I do love Breakhart Pass. Hmmmmm. I think I might hold off paying those ebay prices for a bit. I would

Yavar: The Vanishing (later released complete/definitive by Varese in their Club series) It's missing some stuff. Because of current board rules, I can't quite go into a whole hell of a lot of detail.

Trouble with the Angels would be great! I certainly hope it will be something that hasn't been released in the exactly same form before by another label. Same here!

I'd like to see -- and hear, of course -- a complete SHOCK TREATMENT -- and in stereo, or at least better quality than what's on the Varese Goldsmith box-set, but is that possible? Well...for years we didn't think a complete release of The Egyptian was possible, but Varese put it out. (Actually originally no release of the original tracks was possible and FSM surprised everyone with the first release.) We didn't think any release at all for White Witch Doctor's original tracks was possible, but Varese put it out. And Kritzerland has done a number of similar Fox score releases as well, such as David and Bathsheba. So I wouldn't rule out better elements being discovered, or better technology allowing transfers, etc. etc. Yavar

Are all Goldsmith FANatics as humorless? I'm in love with a lot of Goldsmith scores, but fanatic isn't the true word. But I enjoyed your post. Was funny and entertaining. The rush of Goldsmith releases is great (from my point of view), but I don't like all of them. GLADIATOR for example was rejected for a good reason, it was (to my ears) horrible.... BUT if you'd release a Goldsmith title that was written before the mid-80s...I'd buy the next moment (except it is a re-re-release without upliftings in sound or including more tracks). So let it come. So I'll be able to buy my fifth and maybe very last Kritzerland CD...;-) Well said, and me, too! Not a huge fan of the bulk of Goldsmith's work from the mid eighties on, but anything new by him prior to that would be a welcomed addition. And, yes, Goldsmith is my favorite composer. SCOTT
