I tried to log on at 9.05pm UK to order something else and couldn't access the site then 5 minutes later it cleared.

Very frustrating for those trying and failing to get a copy of Christine. I sympathise. Not good.

I was logged in already and clicked 'Buy' the second the disc showed as available. Got as far as Confirm Order and it returned me to the Homepage.

Really pissed off at the limited quantities of this and with the eBay-trading parasites who bought up multiple copies the first time round.

I thought we'd seen the last of this shit when Intrada changed their policies regarding CDs but it looks like independent Blu-ray companies have adopted a failed business model.

yeah the right thing to do would be to press more...if peopke only buy these things because they are limited, it´s not the companies fault...Intrada has found a model that works as one can´t expect something to be around forever, but atleast they give you the chance to save up until the end of the month when something gets released.

I am one of the biggest opponents of this label and their business practices, sorry. I have many compelling reasons as to why, too, but everyone knows these if they follow Blu-ray.com. I simply loathe this stupid, limited edition game; seriously, they took the single worst thing about the soundtrack industry and brought it over to feature films--popular ones at that. So, they make their money; good for them.

Had it in my cart then pressed order and it just froze. I backed out and my cart was empty.

Crap.

I checked my email and it apparently went through. I think we can call that a close one.

Did anyone manage to buy one?

Edit. Sorry, just read the message above properly. So there were copies available but the limited quantities crashed the site for most of us.

My very first car was a '58 Plymouth Fury, in 1967. I paid $100 for it (which was an absolute steal even in 1967) and sold it for $1,000, 5 years later! So, I feel no need to own a BD of CHRISTINE.

Buying something and enjoying it then passing it on later - even at a profit - is very different from buying something purely to sell it on - before you even receive it.

It's parasitic because those sellers add nothing to the exchange except extra cost.

They haven't made anything (except profit), they haven't provided a service by maintaining or repairing anything, and they haven't sourced anything that would have been difficult to find - except in the sense they added to it's scarcity.

It's called capitalism.

It's called capitalism.

It's possible to be a capitalist without being greedy. Most capitalists contribute something to an exchange, whether its an investment in the manufacture of a product or some service further down the line - but they still turn over a profit.

Just shrugging your shoulders and saying 'Don't blame me, blame the system' as if people had no moral agency of their own is a cop out.

It's perfectly legal to sponge off your family or cheat on your partner but we don't make excuses for people who do so.

As far as I can tell everyone on this site lives in capitalist countries but they don't all use that as an excuse for ripping people off.

Agreed: ludicrous. It's not exactly incentivizing an already waning physical media format, either. People want a title, can't find it...resort to poorer quality streaming and downloads. That gets easier, as some decide the quality gains of uncompressed HD aren't worth the trouble--and expense--on the acquisition end.

Just letting you know that Christine has been released in Blu-Ray region ABC by Sony in Australia with extras.

It reads region B, but I bought a copy and the back cover reads region ABC.

Just to let people know it's been rereleased on blu ray on amazon.com. I'm not sure if it's an improved PQ version but I watched it last night and it looked great.

Yep, got mine last week for $10.99 . I repeat, $10.99 smile

From reviews, it seems to be the same transfer as the TT release, and same bonus content aside from the isolated score being left off here. But I believe the Varese CD the complete score anyway.
