Just grabbed my CD of this off the shelf, together with Scoop, L'attenzione and Via Degli Specchi, for a rotation tomorrow, as this working from home malarkey continues.
Looks like Monday will be Pino Donaggio Day in our house smile

A veddy veddy good day...this.

Cheers, best, warmest, safest wishes to you & your loved ones, McGann, you old pirate, you!
Watch Domino! It's NOT that bad, just slightly embarrassing! The skeletal remains of DePalma greatness ARE there! Pino did good on this one too!!

Hey Sean, thanks for the thoughts.
You and yours stay well too, good buddy.

I'll have a scope to see where Domino is available to watch.

DOMINO is one of last year's best scores, and as a film has its sparkling moments (like the early apartment building chase), albeit a FAR lesser film than PASSION. PASSION gets a lot of flack, especially by those who are unable to see the subversive/genre play that De Palma is doing, but IMO it's one of his best films in YEARS. I'll defend that film vehemently!

And that's your right, Thor.
But most (normal people) DePalma fans would say, quite rightly, that it's a sub-standard TV movie that pales in comparison to the best of DePalma from the years gone by.
I imagine even DePalma would say that too.

Oh, sure. I'm not necessarily putting it up against the revered classics, like CARRIE or BLOW OUT or BODY DOUBLE or whatever, just saying that it's his best in years. Also, there are far worse duds earlier in the years too, like THE FURY (spectacular Williams score notwithstanding).

I'd forgotten how close Track 5/Know That Know apes the temp track (obviously from The Thing by Morricone).
