It's that time of year again when those who are in love will show there love, maybe with flowers, candy, a romantic diner. It will be a night of joy, love, compassion, hurt, anger, happiness and sadness, A time i remember in New York such interesting sights as being on the subway and seeing loads of guys with Valentine's gifts in their hands on their way home from work. So nice. However i also got to learn on the morning or day after be careful on places like the subway not to give someone the wrong look because they will be more likely to pop you one.Such is the life we live, but i find holidays nice, most of the time anyway. Doing anything special this year for your lover?

34 views so far, dan. I never know what to do on Valentine's Day. It's all so commercial, like everything. Last year I thought I'd do something special. I actually cultivated some roses in secret, in a corner of the garden we have in the old country abode, and I presented them to my delighted wife on February the 14th. She put them in a vase, pride of place in the middle of the table and next day the cats had eaten them. Petals, stalks, leaves and cat vomit everywhere.

I celebrated today with my boyfriend because he is working on Valentines Day. We went to a delightful brunch in Coronado (small coastal area of San Diego) overlooking the water and walked around after. The food was amazing and it seems we weren't the only couples out enjoying the beautiful morning. The restaurant wasn't that expensive either considering how amazing the food was.

I never really care if it is so commercial because everything to a certain extent is and that is just the world the humans live in It always was to an extent that way,I see it as a very personal thing like other holidays showing how one cares for another special person in your life. So no need to ruin it with outside secondary issues. Like the man standing on the subway station with a bunch of roses in his hand hoping to make some money like everyone else is that night.Hey i was a vendor for a few years, is that not what i do for people who like movies and music and other things.I notice in the city some of the same guys who sell these flowers are the ones who stay up all night around Christmas trying to sell Christmas trees in below freezing tempartures, this job is not as bad i imagine.

I'm giving my sweetie a pack of rose colored Oreos. If she doesn't want 'em, I'll eat 'em.
