From reading the premise, it sounds like The Ides of March: The Series. I also remember that it seemed to be in production forever (how did it take over a year to film a five-episode season?). I also found it hilarious that Fincher and the show's creator said in 2011 that streaming was the future of television and that in five years, television would be completely dead. Two years after that was said, Netflix's stock went down, Hulu's only major success at an original show (Misfits) was a show that no one else wanted and Netflix had to resort to resurrecting a long-dead show (Arrested Development) to get people even interested in the streaming plan. As for the Netflix originals, Lilyhammer sounds good but they botched the distribution of that show by barely promoting it and refusing to distribute it anywhere else, Derek feels like it would fit better at BBC America or HBO, Hemlock Grove sounds like the typical Syfy shlock that airs on Saturdays and Orange Is The New Black is not only saddled with an awful title but will probably go the way of Weeds: a good idea is squandered in favor of ripping off Desperate Housewives. As for television networks, the problem isn't a wider range of devices but the people running the networks. ABC is stuck in the 1980's, CBS does the same thing all the time, Fox is obsessed with reality shows and latching onto stale cash cows, NBC trusts the wrong people and The CW is afraid to shed its image as "the teen network". Even the smart networks have problems. HBO is ignoring their successes to hype Girls (a low-rated drama liked by critics and no one else) as the second coming, Showtime remakes Weeds every year, AMC is turning into the cable version of Fox and too many networks are going lowbrow. My message to them: either stick to the original plan, encourage creativity instead of profits or leave.

Is this a remake of the BBC series from the 90s? If so, as much as I like Kevin Spacey, I'm not sure I can erase Ian Richardson's career defining performance from my mind as Francis Urguhart: "You might well think that. I couldn't possibly comment." I don't have netflix so I guess it doesn't matter, although I am curious. I believe it is.

I did a marathon of this over the past few days and I thought it was excellent. I loved the character narrating to the camera. It was a really well-shot. It was interesting that they chose an aspect ratio of 1.85:1, which was emphasized when showing pillarboxed clips of TV shows. I haven't heard if they're making a season two, but I hope it's in the works. This cast was great and the writing was consistently good throughout. Even the parts that I found were a bit obnoxious/pointless (e.g. Claire's affair) were woven in a way that kept other interesting things going on around them.

after 2 eps I am not sure about this one. FIRST OF ALL THE STREAMING WAS F'ED up! I had a lot of trouble with NEtflix! Second of all, it feel alot like BOSS, right down to the Lady Macbeth wife, but its not as much fun. I love Spacey in these types of roles but it is so cynical and I am kinda burned out on politcs in general. ONE GREAT THING! there is a fantastic bit of gratuitous nudity in episode two check it out! bruce ps those Mara girls sure have great butts!!!!
