Bad Boys 2

I'll take a look at this list a year from now, hopefully there'll be more than a handful that have been released.

Ah, in my previous life as CinemaScope I posted this list. Alas none of the b/w films have made an appearance, but 16 of the colour ones have. There's a few I can't play as they're region locked to A, & some not so good transfers, but overall not bad at all. And there's This Island Earth coming from Germany next month, Bad Boys 2 listed as being released late November early December in Australia & Scandinavia (I'll believe it when it happens). Universal working on One-Eyed Jacks, hopefully for release next year, also they're working on some of the horror sequels, maybe for next Halloween. Oh, & The Son Of Frankenstein & Frankenstein Meets The Wolfman coming out in France in October.

I have the German Open Range & it looks very nice.

EDIT. & I read on another site the Bad Boys 2 is getting a US release on November 10th.

I have been wanting Tucker the Man and his Dream on bluray.
It is a gorgeous picture, it would look and sound amazing on Blu.
Besides that it is also just a darn good movie.

I found "Balto" in HD on iTunes. Anyone know if it's any good? iTunes samples seem to be low quality and I can't judge the video by them.

Another question. When it says you get an iTunes digital copy with a Blu Ray, is it the standard or HD version? According to this page Disney titles are standard def copies not HD. frown

Edit- My original post goes back to 2012 wondering when " While You Were Sleeping" was going to get a Blu Ray release. And here we are three years later... and nothing! mad

I'd love to have Balto on Blu-Ray...they're releasing the horrid We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story on Blu this fall, but not Balto? frown

And yes, I know why they're releasing We're Back! (to tie in with the release of Jurassic World...that's why we're also getting the superior The Land Before Time), but it still stinks that so many good, non-Disney hand-drawn animated features are still MIA on Blu. frown I also want Titan A.E., The Prince Of Egypt and The Road To El Dorado.

Land Before Time coming to Blu Ray October 13th! But I wonder if they did any kind of clean up. The VHS, DVD looks pretty bad and I hope they didn't mess with the audio track like they did with An American Tail.

Update: Looks like LBT got the NIMH treatment. In other words zero clean up.

It looks awful. Like looking through a dirty window. Based on the screen captures it's completely un-watchable to me.

"Watched it this morning. The transfer is very clearly a new HD transfer from the "new universal". (Meaning it hasn't been de-grained and over sharpened to death.) The menus have no text and this disc is clearly made for all countries. The transfer has very fine grain (extremely fine if you ask me) and has definately not undergone any major restoration or been massively tweeked with DNR or sharpening...So it is very filmic and very accurate to the original source.

Unfortunately it's also not very pretty to look at sometimes simply because the grain and dust specs are so heavy and the increase in detail only serves to reveal flaws in the original animation and optical effects. It is definately a remaster but it isn't a full blown "restoration." It's great to have the film in widescreen and is probably the best the film can look without having a revisionist-style restoration like the ones done by Lowry for Disney. (Of which I am a fan.) “
