"While You Were Sleeping" was announced by Disney in late 2012 for an early 2013 release.

Still waiting.

And since Warner Archives has issued "Gypsy" and "Billy Rose's 'Jumbo'" on BD, I'm wondering how long it will be before they get around to "Victor, Victoria".

No kidding. It's a good-looking DVD, but it has the potential to be one of the best-looking blus out there. Here's hopin'! There are a number of Blake Edwards films that I hope come to blu.

Yeah, there's a few I'd like: Operation Petticoat - The Great Race - S.O.B. - That's Life! I'd take a DVD of That's Life!

Still waiting on a BR release of Neil Jordan's superb film Michael Collins. The DVD is atrocious, making you flip the disc to watch the last 15 minutes.

And where the hell is "Murder on the Orient Express", Paramount?

It was just released in the UK. Not sure if it's region-free.

As long as we're talking wish fulfillment, how about a Blu-Ray FALL OF THE ROMAN EMPIRE, in widescreen, with all those newly discovered "deleted scenes," found just before the release of the DVD, but too late to be included?

Wonder what happened to them?

Warners is now distributing the bulk of the old Paramount catalog titles, so ask them.

Yeah, there's a few I'd like: Operation Petticoat

Coming later this year from Olive Films.

Bad news about the forthcoming American Tail Blu...apparently it retains the awful 5.1 remix with the altered/additional dialogue and sound effects from the DVD. mad And those DreamWorks Blu releases are supposedly just DVD reissues.

Well that sucks! Not that I had much hope to begin with. frown

Olive Films is releasing the Marx Brothers' last movie - 1949's Love Happy - on Blu-Ray on May 6th.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like Universal or WB will be getting to their respective Marx Brothers films anytime soon.

And speaking of Universal, they're still sitting on some HD-DVD titles that haven't made it to Blu yet, like Sneakers.

And it was mentioned above: WB is releasing a lot of Paramount catalog titles, but I'm hoping this deal means one day we can get a double-feature set with Innerspace and Explorers. smile

As the wait for "While You Were Sleeping" continues, it appears Netflix has the film available for streaming! (presumably in HD)

Space Battleship Yamato finally available for North America! This is a Blu Ray/DVD combo. My copy arrived yesterday. Haven't played it yet so don't know the quality of the transfer. The information says Japanese with English Sub-titles (which is what I was hoping for) but also an English Language track for those that must watch it dubbed.

Land Before Time coming to Blu Ray October 13th! But I wonder if they did any kind of clean up. The VHS, DVD looks pretty bad and I hope they didn't mess with the audio track like they did with An American Tail.

Better late than never update. The North American version isn't as good as the Japanese version. The video quality seems a tick down from the Japanese release. Also the North American version is in standard letterbox. The Japanese version is much wider. I don't know how to explain that in technical terms.

And where in the heck is the Blu Ray for Kevin Costner' superb Open Range ?

I assumed it was already on blu. I'm disgusted to discover that it's not.

There is a french blu-ray release that is excellent

http://www.amazon.fr/Open-Range-Blu-ray-Robert-Duvall/dp/B001Q8UP5U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1441979689&sr=8-1&keywords=open+range

also a german one but the cover art isn't as good. Some extras might be in pal considering they are ports from the DVD.
