The Blu-ray has been released in a few countries, Japan, Italy & Germany. I ordered the Italian Blu via Amazon UK Marketplace (only just over £16 delivered) & it came today. The picture is...stunning! Sharp with so much detail, & the solid colours just jump out at you, I can't imagine a better transfer of this film. It must have cost a lot of time & money to do this, why it hasn't been released worldwide with a lot of fanfare heaven only knows.

Sorry, I don't know if it's multi-region, I'd think it is as it's a Paramount release, I'm sure the answer will appear online before too long.

I remember seeing this one in a theater in the late 50s or early 60s on re-release.

It has aired on TCM sporadically over the years, but the image is always soft.

I'm greatly looking forward to a sharp, vibrant BD of this film.

So finally - one year after its release on dvd, Paramount will finally release this on March 11 -- apparently devoid of extras .

Shame on Paramount for delaying the BR a year for monetary reasons - why else did it take a a whole year?. But I am very excited to finally have it in HD.

Sparked by catching the samson segment in the latest Bible tv series starring Renfield from dracula, i was discussing the victor mature version with a mate this week.

Yes. And remember: only Parmalov dishwashing liquid can destroy the dangerous
blu-ray. That is why Parmalov is our friend. Oil of Olay is our friend, too, because
it is good for the DVD. Scrubbing Bubbles is neutral at this point because he
hasn't signed the treaty to defend us from the evil that is Blu-Ray.

Den

Den, i know they were old but your Bluray comments were priceless. wink
