http://www.varesesarabande.com/servlet/the-1079/Enemy-Mine-cln--The-Deluxe/Detail ENEMY MINE: The Deluxe Edition Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Music Composed and Conducted by Maurice Jarre Maurice Jarre’s acclaimed score for Enemy Mine is a work of two distinct personalities. Just when you think you're listening to a challenging, exotic and endlessly creative score for an entirely electronic ensemble, Jarre strikes up the band, delivering a powerful and sweeping orchestral work. Together, the two halves make for one of Maurice Jarre's most powerful scores of the period. In this visually stunning sci-fi adventure from director Wolfgang Petersen, two warriors engaged in a savage, futuristic war between Earth and the planet Dracon, crash-land on a desolate, fiery planet. At first, the human (Dennis Quaid) and his reptilian, alien opponent (Louis Gossett, Jr.) are intent on destroying each other. But after battling the elements and each other, the two stranded pilots gradually realize that the only way either of them will survive is to overcome their undying hatred. Expanded and supplemented with new elements of both the electronic and the orchestral sides of the score, this new, Deluxe Edition has also allowed us to make great improvement to the sound. A very exciting Jarre release! Recently released on Blu-ray by Twilight Time, Enemy Mine is a significant film from a major director. Another interesting score by Jarre. Purchased for the unreleased music.

I wonder if Twilight Time's recent release of the Bluray used these for the isolated score track. Because some of the cues had sound FX from what i heard.

I only had the TER LP, been waiting for this for ages, love the score and film. If it had been an Encore reissue I'd still have gone for it, so deluxe is a bonus. So I'll add it to my little treasure trove of Enemy Mine-related bits - the VHS, DVD (not buying the Blu), LP, movie novelisation, Barry Longyear's original short story collection Manifest Destiny with the original version and his epic expanded three book tome, The Enemy Papers!

So I'll add it to my little treasure trove of Enemy Mine-related bits - the VHS, DVD (not buying the Blu) ... Why on earth not? Finances plus the Region 2 DVD I have has deleted scenes. Don't know if this new Blu has those and no need for an iso score (with effects I understand), especially as Varese have now released the CD. I love the score, although not a great fan of Jarre's electronics, they work very well here and the orhcestral portions are beautiful. The film has an emotional heart lacking in so many genre pictures. To be honest, there is little intrinsic value to an iso score, except for those who want to hear it all. To Joe Public, better would be to have an option to run the film without the music, that would show instantly whan music can do for a film (or in many cases, spoilt it - there, I've said it) for those not 'in the know'. I do recommend Barry Longyear's The Enemy Papers, which is involving from start to finish (although it took me years to get around to sitting down with it) and goes into more depth about the religion of the Dracs (who in the author's 'universe' were previously known as the Sindie) and there's an alien 'bible' included, as well as a Drac-English dictionary. The tome resonates a lot for those of faith and also for those with none.

By the way, the Bluray, from what I see from reviews, has a marvellous restoration!

At last, I can throw away my pre-recorded cassette tape of ENEMY MINE. (It was one of the very few pre-recorded cassettes I ever bought...what a shitty medium they were.) As a nineties hipster would say, I'm totally stoked!
