For some reason this 2CD set is very cheap on Amazon UK. I received it very fast (excellent service) in The Netherlands and I'm glad I bought it. I know there was some criticism about it being incomplete and/or not the same as heard in the film but I must say this is a very good listening experience (especially for the price). I decided to buy it after seeing the film last week on TV (had not seen it since 1976 when I saw it in the theatre). I was most impressed with the Stomu Yamash'ta tracks but the John Phillips material is excellent as well. The film looked a bit dated but in general held up well. Bowie is a convincing alien. Nice to have this soundtrack now too. I will look forward to other CD's by Yamash'ta (so far I only knew his Henze/Takemitsu/Maxwell Davies recording).

Found used the 2CD version. No idea was released. Surprisingly excellent Stomu Yamashta and John Phillips pieces/songs.
Glad this was released as wanted since film opened.
