I listen to the sound clips and thought it sounded great so I thought I would take a chance. However I've got to say that I'm a bit confused: The track-list of my CD includes tracks like "On to Popo Agie" (Track #2) , "Shootout at the River" (#10) or "Death, Retribution & Finale" (#11)??? He means that some of the track names on the Intrada site are different from the ones on the actual package. Beats me what happened. Maybe this was Legrand's call, maybe it was Doug's. In any event, this score is so very marvelous. Lush and exciting (I particularly love Heavy Eagle's theme). I've been a huge Michel Legrand fan for many decades -- since I fell in love with "The Umbrellas of Cherbourg" in 1964. A few days ago I received the 2-CD set "The Music of Michel Legrand" in which he conducts excerpts from several of his works with the Moscow Virtuosi, and then decided to break down and make a Michel Legrand playlist for my iPod, which included: "The Music of Michel Legrand" "The Essential Michel Legrand Film Music Collection" "Festival de Cannes (60th Anniversary)" "Legrand/Grappelli" Instrumental cues from "Lady Sings The Blues" "The Summer of '42" "The Thomas Crown Affair" "Ice Station Zebra" "Yentl" "The Umbrellas of Cherbourg" "The Young Girls of Rochefort" And I've been searching for 2 or 3 other CDs I have of him conducting his own music. But I chose NOT to include the dreadful "Atlantic City" (what a waste of money!) in this playlist. I'll likely buy the above Intrada, if only because I've been pleased with their other recent releases, like "Cahill" and especially "Cocoon."    Posted:   Nov 12, 2013 - 5:50 AM     By:   Vermithrax Pejorative   (Member) This is a gem of a score. I took a gamble on it based on the samples and I'm so glad I did. Lush, spacious, wide-open music that fills the senses. At times, the brass sections sound similar to some Stu Phillips CD's I own. Legrand' soundtracks on new CDs is not so frequent. It will compensate the low number of soundtrack music on his 15CD box Anthology just issued by Universal. The content of the 2CD set evoked above is in the box : it is well-worth to buy the box (less than $ 40 in Europe) instead of the 2CD set, I think. patrick    Posted:   Nov 30, 2013 - 10:36 PM     By:   Col. The action cuts in this one are outstanding, inventive and highly memorable - Which is to say nothing of the main theme! I love when low-profile scores of exceptional quality like this get bumped to the front page of FSM. I remember when Intrada released Terry Plumeri's epic adventure score to MR. ATLAS similar sentiments were shared. Then, when Intrada put it on the "chopping block" I said, What the Hell, I'll get it and Other Side of Midnight too. Boy, am I glad I did. Everybody is right. And the action music is really exceptional. Definitely LeGrand's soundworld, but with a great distinctiveness that makes me want to watch the movie despite what everyone says.
