I'm a little disappointed that they aren't releasing Time's Arrow as a feature length single disc, as with the other two-parters. I really enjoyed Jerry Hardin's performance as Samuel Clemens. I thought the episodes were full of nice little touches, like Jack London as the bellhop, Data cleaning out the professional card sharks (including Marc Alaimo, soon to play Gul Dukat) in a poker game, plus the storyline of Picard and Guinan nicely comes full circle. After The Best of Both Worlds, Time's Arrow is my favorite of the season finale/premieres, and TNG's two-parters in general.

You are right Matt, that is a good movie when it is put together, nicely written.

Watching much of TNG's 7th season on Netflix I while ago I did notice that perhaps they were running out of ideas a bit, maybe because some of their writers were busy working on Generations.
For example a lot of episodes deal with crew members meeting family members we had not been introduced to, or they hadn't been introduced to.
Picard gains a son, sort of. Data meets his mother of sorts Troi has a sister We meet Geordi's folks Worfs human brother

Come on; how could you forget Beverly's grandmother and their mutual boyfriend, THE GHOST! If TNG had an answer to 'Spock's Brain', then 'Sub Rosa' was it.
I'm really looking forward to Season 7, though. Lower Decks, The Pegasus, Parallels, All Good Things... it had some cool episodes, and it'll be great to see them in full HD. I wish they'd digitally chop that third nacelle off the future Enterprise, though... the Galaxy-class was never my favourite design (too saucer-heavy), and less is definitely more. I'm surprised they didn't have flames painted on the hull so that viewers would be that much more convinced that the future ship could go even faster than the one in the present.

Lower Decks is one of my favorites, it is like a whole different view of this ship and the inner guts. I agree that Sub Rosa is tied with a couple first season episodes as some of the worst episodes they did. Aside from that I thought that the family angle was rather apropos for them getting ready to end the show. The show series worked out brilliantly well, an amazing show all around. I am ready for Season 7 blu as well.
Got a great combo deal on the last two seasons a while back (6&7), and have been enjoying revisiting the sixth season in the last month. I like to watch TNG on sunday evenings as that's the day they were shown back when I first saw them (and continued with DS9 and voyager). The restoration job they've done on the show remains astonishing throughout and only the occasional video-like noise in darker scenes is visible but for the most part the episodes look as if they were shot last week.
It is fun to pay attention to costumes, makeup, set design and even the backdrop of space slowly moving in the background. But for the most part I'm impressed with how well the writing and performances hold up. Season 6 contains a lot of favorites, "Schisms" with the excellent holodeck sequence, "Ship in a Bottle" and "Frame of Mind" with some clever takes on simulated reality. The two parters are also excellent with David Warner in "Chain of Command" and James Cromwell in "Birthright" (I hadn't recognized him). The Q episodes in this season I don't particularly care for, the "Tapestry" easily the better. But even the less eventful episodes still have a lot going on with these characters and still manage to squeeze in the obligatory threatening situation in the third act.
There's been some great bargains on these sets in the UK lately. I bought seasons 3-4-5 for just over £12 each.
That's what I ended up paying per season as well, was tempted with the last seasons to get them at a higher price but am glad I managed to hold out. Well worth the wait!

Rakuten.co.uk (used to be called Play.com) were selling them cheap in an Easter sale, with a code to shave even more off, but back up to £30 now. Before that, they were being sold really cheap on ebay (from the entertainment store, which I think is the same outfit). The trouble is, these bargains come & go, & if you lead a busy life & go to work (no me these days), they're easily missed. I check this site once a day, all kinds of bargains:
