Wasnt there a slap scene with Hackman and Denzel in CRIMSON TIDE?

That was mOre like a passive aggressive beating.

Of all the face slap movie scenes I've seen, nothing tops the intense Deer Hunter with several hard face slaps & Russian roulette.

The 3 Stooges were memorable with face slaps as it was part of there gag which made it all the more enjoyable.

Hartman in Full Metal jacket occasionally bullies Leonard with several slaps, choking him.

De Niro in Raging Bull starts to bully new wife Vicky with regular face slaps as she wouldn't obey/listen to his paranoia.

Bill Murray gets slapped around by Andie Mcdowell in Groundhog Day repeatedly, also Scrooged by the Fairy godmother.

Here's just one of a few and it's a doozy.
Look at Michael's expression starting at 2:04 just before he erupts.
Textbook concealed rage, just about to bubble over.
Absolutely brutal slap. He put his whole body into it.
I'm amazed Kay's head didn't fly off.

And yet he never drops his ciggy!

In The Heat Of The Night '67. The plantation owner slaps Sidney Poitier &...Poitier slaps him right back, & the guys whole world collapses, he just can't believe it. It's been a while since I've seen it, but I think he says something like, a few years ago I could have had you shot for that.

Just thought of another great slap in the same film. Talking to a gang of punks, Rod Steiger pulls one of them towards him, slaps his face a few times & pushes him away, all in the one fluid movment & using just one arm.

The first one is my all-time favorite comeuppance slap. The second one kills me and Steiger pulled it off perfectly, a companion to Kirk slapping Trelane LOL.

The Godfather II one has to be the most brutal. The most tragic for me is when her husband slaps Birdie in The Little Foxes and a close second when Dave tells her the truth in Breaking Away. Ouch.

But as for the funniest, the one that slays me every time and we are talking lifelong every time--at the beginning here & right after he gets up:

I wanted to post a clip of the "Naked Gun" three-handed slap of Leslie Nielsen/Frank Drebin which is one of my favorite moments in the franchise. But couldn't find a good source. But that's my choice!

I'm with John McMasters on the Naked Gun third-hand slap! It's brilliant.

The king of the slaps is Dan Duryea, I'd say, except he mostly did it to women.

Ah but Daddy did it to him in the aforementioned The Little Foxes after Daddy had done it to Mom. What a bastard that Pa Hubbard (actually all of them Hubbards).

"Empire of the Sun" has a good one. After the invasion of Shanghai, young Jim (Christian Bale) returns to his parents' deserted house and he sees his former housekeeper, Amah (Susan Leong), making off with a large piece of furniture. I remember, from the 'making of' documentary, Spielberg instructed Leong to really slap Bale after the boy indignantly challenged her. It produced a very genuine reaction of shock and surprise in the 13-year-old Bale, who was wonderful in the film.
