I find them about as interesting as Latin. Good for my car, though.

I've always been fascinated by them. I devoured dinosaur books as a child. I remember some amazing exhibit at the Wild Animal Park one year that was dinosaurs, very cool.

To think these giant creatures ruled the Earth for millions of years. It's memorizing. Then again all of prehistoric Earth is fascinating. Whole ecologies of fish, mammals, reptiles, and dinosaurs long gone past.

Ditto. Growing up in the 80's, I would gravitate towards any movie or TV series featuring dinos. The Last Dinosaur was one of my favorite movies growing up. And, of course, Godzilla (kinda-sorta a dinosaur). Jurassic Park came out the month I turned 19, and that was practically a religious experience for me. Today's kids don't know how good they have it when they can watch flawless CGI footage of dinosaurs anytime they want. wink

.....Whole ecologies of fish, mammals, reptiles, and dinosaurs long gone past.....

I'm hardly anything resembling a scientist.

However, if you begin to read the scientific record in detail,
I think you will find that most contemporary science feels the
dinosaurs are still with us.

We, and Alfred Hitchcock, now know them as "the birds."

And so, I see dinosaurs every day, splashing about in my backyard
fountains.

True to some extent. I don't believe the T-Rex turned into a chicken. But yes its seems pretty conclusive some kinds of dinosaurs evolved into birds.

Yes. If you look at velociraptors they do look a lot like eagles and hawks.

Having always been very interested in natural history, dinosaurs captured my imagination at an early stage. My grandma used to give my older brother large (1 ft tall) figures of various dinos back in the 1950's... plus he had a big diorama with the whole dino gang.

It's amazing how dinosaurs evolved into world conquering mega-fauna and lasted so long before ( something ) took them out and paved the way for mammals. What is also amazing is how well preserved some dino tissue is, allowing scientists to observe their cell structure under a microscope. It is very cool to be roaming the hills in places like Wyoming and find fossilized bones on the hillsides. Puts things in an interesting perspective.

I "had" a friend who firmly believes that dinosaurs and man coexisted and that "Noah" had them on his ark. When I asked this guy how Noah fit them all onboard along with all other animals, he said "Noah used baby dinosaurs". This guy is a hard core Creationist/6000 year old Earth believer. He "unfriended" me on Facebook for daring to logically question his ludicrous theory.

I've had that happen a few times.

He's sort of right but he's out by 994000 years, he should watch ONE MILLION YEARS B.C. ....true story!

I brought up all of the known prehistoric mammals to the guy and asked him if they were on the ark too, and he dodged the question of course.
