I've had this on DVD for a while, and it looks like it was transferred from a VHS. My wife recently got us the Blu-Ray version, and it's stunning. It includes some before and after restoration scenes.

Piccioni's score has long been a favorite. It oozes late 60s/early 70s Euro decadence.

Greatest erotic movie and score ever

I have to say the film did very little for me - by chance I watched the UK DVD last week which is not of the highest quality - and is only slightly interesting. But then I'm not a massive fan of "erotic" movies. I only heard about it because it was shown at my local cinema back in 1972 without a BBFC certificate (it wasn't actually passed until 1982).

Wow, I think this is the greatest film ever made. I can't think of another film that packs in as much perfect visual content, minute for minute, as this one does.

Regarding the music by Piccioni, is that a new transfer for the DVD/Blu-ray?

One of the best Piccioni scores ever - my gateway into Piccioni - and a sexy, funky movie to boot.

A dual format DVD/Blu-ray from UK label Arrow has the mono track in PCM. This may have been a new transfer from the source elements. Hopefully it's crisp and full to complement the lovely costumes.

I note several websites reporting that the director of Camille 2000, Radley Metzger, has passed away, just two days ago on March 31, 2017, at the age of 88.

Camille 2000 (1970) is an essential soundtrack by Piccioni, lush and loungey, a perfect accompaniment to a gray and rainy afternoon like I am having here today.

Just yesterday I received Blind Faith Records' 2-LP set of the soundtrack of Camille 2000. So far I have listened through once and recorded it to CD-R. It seems like a nice, quiet pressing; my copy had a little bit of static and surface noise on the final track, but overall a great release.

The track listing with approximate times is:

Disc 1 - Side 1:
1. Pearls (3:40)
2. Slow Flute Beat (2:28)
3. Chains of Love (2:16)
4. Charms (3:10)
5. Brasil 2000 (2:06)
6. Funky Lovers (1:55)
7. Tears In Brasil (3:28)

Disc 1 - Side 2:
1. Camille 2000 - Intro (4:17)
2. Funky Lovers (2:07)
3. Ballade (2:13)
4. Tears In Brasil (2:28)
5. Tears In Rome (1:53)
6. Magic (1:51)

Disc 2 - Side 1:
1. Camille 2000 Party Shake (3:23)
2. Camille 2000 Party Beat (1:29)
3. Pearls - Alternate (2:01)
4. Pearls - Italian Style Theme (1:28)
5. Pearls - Up Tempo Theme (0:23)
6. Chains Of Love - Alternate (1:48)
7. Tears In Brasil - Alternate (2:48)

Disc 2 - Side 2:
1. Echoes (4:07)
2. Easy Lovers (3:49)
3. Chains Of Love - Alternate (2:00)
4. Camille 2000 - Outro (0:37)
5. Brasil 2000 - Alternate (1:26)
6. Charms - Alternate (3:16)

The overall time is about 62 minutes. The 1998 release of this on the Easy Tempo label is also right around 62 minutes, though the Blind Faith release does have some unique bonus tracks. I have not done a meticulous comparison, but the track "Pearls - Italian Style Theme" appears to be unique to the Blind Faith version, and even though the track is less than 2 minutes long, for me is worth the purchase price of the album.

The Easy Tempo CD is long out of print, but I will mention that the Cult Epics Blu-Ray release Radley Metzger's Erotica Psychedelica comes with a bonus CD that includes the entirety of the Easy Tempo release, along with 2 songs from Score and 5 tracks by Stelvio Cipriani from The Lickerish Quartet. (Camille 2000, Score, and The Lickerish Quartet are the 3 films on Blu-Ray.)

Thanks Mr. A&C!

I am compulsive enough to buy just about every iteration of many soundtracks -- particularly my all-time favorites, like this one -- but was a little frustrated that I couldn't find more info about this release on line to see if it offered anything new. Turns out it does! The track timings can be a good clue, which is why I've included them here.

Did A&C acquire some Piccioni soundtracks from purplemonkey?
Which titles did you get, A&C? (if you don't mind my asking ... )

Hello Zardoz! No, not Piccioni, it was a couple of Barry Gray titles. Though Piccioni does get my highest recommendation, with Camille pretty much at the top of that list!

Hello Monkey Washer I received C3K's CAMILLE, the sound has changed significantly from Easy Tempo's take.

Increased detail/clarity, less boom in the low end ... better. The digipak cover also has fetching 3D aesthetic.

Also the Easy Tempo release has at least 20 minutes of music not on the other release. I couldn't quite figure out if these are really alternate takes or different mixes of multi-track recordings with different instruments.

Also the compilation track "Grand central rock drum" which I like quite a bit never made it to any of the Camille 2000 albums. Whether this is from the same sessions or some slightly later recording of themes from Camille 2000, I don't know

The Easy Tempo version has more music than the newer, C3k version?
