I believe PRICE OF POWER is the work of Luis Bacalov, not Morricone. When you compare this to other Bacalov westerns like THE GRAND DUEL and QUIEN SABE, you can hear many similarities. Yes, it's definitely Morricone influenced, but I say it's Bacalov. By the way, it's a damn fine score. The new expanded release is what spaghetti western fans have all been waiting decades to hear.

sorry El Bruco, i agree totally with jim. Its pure Bacalov all over it, his traits, his signatures, the lot. Doing what they all did, copying Ennio's established blueprint.

well,in deference to the conflicting opinions i have moved it to a different place on my shelf.
Instead of being filed with the other EM westerns, i have moved it to the end with EM/Edda comps

No, it took movies4men four years to screen it again so i could watch it, then another half hour for me to search thru my chest of tapes to find the score on cassette. Every theme has Bacalov traits he has used before. Nice try though.

I didn't know about this soundtrack, it must have passed me by. I recognised the main title, I must have it on a compilation somewhere. It looks deleted & expensive now, but Amazon UK Marketplace had a new expanded one at a good price, I've just ordered it & look forward to listening to it.

a sensible move El Bruco. As long as its nearer the Bacalov section. wink And I wasnt daring to do anything - except maybe gentle ribbing.

"And I wasnt daring to do anything - except maybe gentle ribbing."

I didn't think I needed to add a winky emoji (to my angry emoji) to indicate I knew you were "gently ribbing" me
wink
fyi I don't have a Bacalov section. After Morricone I have an Edda D'Ell Orso comp. which has ONE Bacalov track along w.other Italian composers inc. Ennio

Well far be it for me to tell you how to arrange your CDs El Bruco but its about time you had a bacalov section - even if its just 1 CD wink

It all seems a bit posh with all these arranged CD's, I just bung 'em on the shelf any old way. I do keep pop, classical & soundtracks separate, but it hardly matters these days as I either listen to my ipod or a digital jukebox (brennan).
