But no, she wasn't duped; she was in on it...... There's something very sad to contemplate about that possibility. Douglas Trumbull's Brainstorm was still being filmed, and upon her death, MGM shut the production down. Trumbull fought tooth-and-nail to keep his film alive, in spite of his leading lady's demise. I'm so glad he won the battle. While Brainstorm is certainly an uneven effort, it has a number of amazing qualities that I love very much, not the least of which is Natalie's wonderful presence.
