Practically tripped over this one as I was doing a search for soundtracks at the J&R Music World website. Apparently, Wounded Bird Records has reissued the "Mel Brooks Greatest Hits" soundtrack from '77 on cd. Went to the website and yes do they do sell it. Odd that Amazon doesn't even list it though. Anyway, I always liked this LP, especially considering that it was my first introduction to John Morris. Here's the link, woundedbird.com
it is listed on Amazon.. i found it..just type in"High Anxiety soundtrack" and it will show up for you..
You're right, but it's listed under "Mel Brooks' Greatest Hits." That's why I couldn't find it. Glad MV chimed in though. I'd rather wait for a complete release.
I'm going to hold out for a more complete release of that score from LA-LA Land.

Yes, please do

Can this mean what I think it means, 'cause, if so, this is splendid news. Not only a new John Morris release, but the first Morris score I noticed and loved.
Also, Please send Varèse a memo that many of us would also like to see THE TWELVE CHAIRS released on CD, expanded or a straight LP reissue, doesn't matter… I want it!
All I had to do was read this thread title and now I can't get the lounge version of "High Anxiety" as sung by Mel Brooks out of my head.
Perhaps this will help. Brooks' performance of "High Anxiety" was partly inspired by his impression of Frank Sinatra, which he would occasionally do on various talk shows. Here he imagines a Sinatra "America, the Beautiful."
DR Nigel Channing- you are not the only one that couldn't get that melody out of your head, catchy as can be, if it was giving a good release on the record charts in another time in history it would have become a standard
