Our voyage began 3/22/2009 and today, 4/23/2012, the final proof was signed off on. . .the booklets/tray cards are being printed as I type!
(Nearly 3 years to the day! Funny how some projects work out.)
June 5th 2012 at 1 pm prepare to boldly go. . .
If this is anything other that what we all think it is, MV will have a riot on his hands. I'm marking the date in my calendar!
If they're boldly going at 1pm, I guess it'll be 3pm or so before we can order, once the LaLa site crashes, the FSM board crashes, and then everyone recovers

Excellent! Do you think it'll include a 2-CD set of interpretations of Ilia's theme by today's top film composers?
No, but you know what would be awesome? A DVD featuring Goldsmith's complete unedited interview from the Star Trek: TMP DVD supplements.
That would be awesome. Maybe the could also include the complete scenes shown in the documentary in their entirety along with the final and alternative scores.
For the uninformed- I thought all of the "ST-TMP" music was previously released? Am I incorrect? Please enlighten. THANKS!!!
It has been but this should be a definitive release matching other recent ST re-releases, with remastered sound, alternate takes of cues (of which this score evidently has many), etc.
I'm glad it's finally been cleared! I'll be ready to buy it June 5th for sure! Hopefully it'll make the boot obsolete and can be deleted once it comes out.

It has been [...]
No it hasn't. There is at least 20 minutes worth of great music missing (including the Steiner and the Courage bits) - music that was in the film but not on any previous albums.

This won´t be Star Trek: TMP, this will be "Jurassic Park"! I hope I´m right...
Sorry, you're wrong. MV has explicitly stated that they are not doing "Jurassic Park." He was simply saying that they've spared no expense, that is all. Besides, can you really ignore the "boldly go" thing?
