3. An "uber-awesome" title licensed from Sony that took 4 years to get the proper elements

This one could be another Golden Age title, assuming it would've taken longer to research and get all the proper materials.

4. A very expensive project they wanted to be their 200th title but got delayed

Yeah, I'll toss my hat into the ring for Star Trek: TMP. smile

I think the Hammond reference simply illustrates MV's love of movie quotes. I'm leaning towards a prohibitively expensive and difficult project. I know Hook was a major effort, but Jurassic Park doesn't seem like it would be any more so than Hook. The major hurdle for these is Williams himself.

Two clear-cut prohibitively difficult and expensive titles that I'd love to see are Star Trek TMP and Highlander!

Sadly, none of these hints leads to Die Hard With Vengeance. Last weekend the movie was broadcasted in TV in the evening. I've to say, hopefully the tapes aren't lost of this wonderful score and I really hope one label will release this smile

Die Hard With A Vengeance is one of my ultimate holy grails!

Why?

It's a terrific score, I've loved it since I first saw the movie. I absolutely love the interpolation of Johnny Comes Marching home.

When I was a kid I recorded the audio for the bank heist and the end credits onto an audio cassette tape and played it so much I wore it out!

Yeah, if you took away that material based on When Johnny Comes Marching Home (one of my favorite pieces of music ever), the score on the album is pretty much Seattle Symphony Orchestra Plays Highlights From Die Hard and Die Hard 2.

Oh yea, the original OST CD is horrible in every way, nothing worth listening to. I want the rest of the score, the stuff that wasn't on the OST!

Pretty much same here! Love that score, also recorded the end credits, stayed away from the Bank Heist, though, wouldn't have liked to have the sound effects and dialogue there.

I remember looking for the score at Amazon years ago and almost couldn't believe it when I read the customer reviews there.

Well, anyway, MV said there was more Kamen on the way. Some while back he said that "Last Action Hero" was "on their radar", and I sure wouldn't mind getting that one too, but when it comes to Kamen, Die Hard 3 sure is my most wanted title right now. smile

I'm going to guess Close Encounters of the Third Kind and The Lost World: Jurassic Park.

"For me Both STAR TREK THE MOTION PICTURE and JURASSIC PARK are the most coveted of the expanded projects"
-----------------------------
I know everyone is entitled to their opinion, but those two would rank as my biggest disappointments if they showed up.
There's already a near complete ST-TMP CD out there and while it would be nice to have those extra cues, it's hardly essential. Having said that, we know ST-TMP is coming anyway, as per the current STAR TREK on CD market.
Ditto JURASSIC PARK. The original CD has got plenty of music from the film AND offers a steady, even flow of majestic, adventurous, gentle and tension-filled music.
Plus, if JW recently nixed lots of extra HOOK music on their recent expansion, I hardly think he and his heavies wink will allow for lots of repetition, with his already assembled and plentiful first cut out there.
STORY OF A WOMAN, THE SALAMANDER and TOM SAWYER expanded edition, on the other hand...NOW YOU'RE MOTORIN' smile

You will NEVER convince ANY Trekkie of that. Trekkie's HAVE to have every single note every recorded for each of their scores. I have a few friends who are die hard Trekkies and NONE of them would be fine with an almost complete Trek score. There would also be hell to pay if someone released a Trek score today that wasn't complete.

I'm looking forward to Starhawk, because I generally enjoy Lennertz. And I'm curious as to what the mystery titles are.

Starhawk is the sequel to Warhawk, and Lennertz did a dynamite job on that score. This may be a must-have for me.

Christopher Lennertz also confirmed to me, in an interview I had with him last month, that LLL is going to release Starhawk, the sequel to Warhawk. According to him this one is going to be even better and bigger than Warhawk.

You can check out the interview at www.filmmusicsite.com

I mentioned that in the main post of this thread.

I have no doubt that La-La-Land will be releasing Star Trek: The Motion Picture at some point. They referenced one of the alternates in the liner notes to Star Trek V. Either they were referencing their ownership of a bootleg or they were making a rather wry allusion.

You don't have to own a bootleg to know of the alternate versions of the "TMP" theme, or even to have heard them (in fact, doesn't one of the DVDs include a snippet of the alternate "Enterprise" theme on a commentary track?).

That said, I expect they are doing it.

Yeah, they included about 20 seconds of the alternate "Drydock" cue in one of the featurettes.

With Lennertz being on good terms with La-La Land, I'd love to see the two do a box set with his work with Roger Corman. So far, only Humanoids From The Deep has gotten a release (BSX paired it with Horner's score to the original).

And I don't think Highlander is planned. One of the hints mentioned Sony and Highlander is owned by Studio Canal.
