Chalk me up for John Powell, "How to Train Your Dragon."

I'd say that the best scores of this century so far are Shore's original LOTR scores and Powell's two H2TYD scores. Wonderful!

Great choice! If it were a couple of years younger it would be on my short list of best scores since 2010. As it is, it's probably my second favourite since 2000 after The Incredibles.

Just based on what I've I played the most in the last decade:

Kicks ass. (And I don't usually talk this way.)

Tron: Legacy is amazing.
A.I: Artificial Intelligence is amazing.
Battlestar Galactica: Season 2 is amazing.
How To Train Your Dragon is truly amazing.

But the winner in my books...

LOTR: The Fellowship of the Ring

I'm curious, has anybody bothered to tally so far? I'm curious where the votes would fall.

The Promise - Klaus Badelt - 2005

A Chen Kaige film.

Sweeping score, and an ancient Chinese folk song extremely difficult to perform complimented by symphonic excellence.
