Out for ages I know, but I only just got it for Christmas. Boy, I can't believe I waited so long. Wonderful release by the late, great Shirley Walker. Love it to bits. Anyone lamenting the Danny Elfman style created by his Tim Burton Batman film scores in the recent additions to that particular franchise, who haven't already aquired The Flash should get this and wallow in a couple of hours of sheer bliss!

I feel lucky that the fact that it ISN'T a Batman soundtrack is probably the reason it didn't sell out like the equally wonderful Batman Animated release, luckily I didn't drag my feet with that one. I wasn't 'quick as a flash' this time but it was well worth the wait.

And what better to serve as a appetiser for the latest Batman release from La La Land?

A belated WELL DONE to all involved with The Flash's soundtrack release.

Amen to everything you said.

Agreed on all points. Love everything about it, particularly the pilot score which seems to have more "breathing room" than some of the material following it. But Walker certainly knocks it out of the park.

Still puzzles me that the rather underated series (which I also got for Christmas as a sort of set) didn't do better, and why it was the only film/show that really cashed in on the success of the Burton Batman era. Any other time a number of more DC characters (and more) would've been pressed into action.

While jumping on a bandwagon is not always the best was forward, if it gave rise to more music in this style I'd have been all for it!

The new Batman films are pretty good (though not without faults), but the feel of the films and their music could do with just that extra bit of flamboyance we get in the Burton/Elfman period. Not as ott as the Schumaker stuff, but a little less dry than what we get from the Nolan team.

For me, Elfman nailed the Bat sound, and I miss that level of fun from the new scoring, and the films.

The Flash 2 cd release was my favorite cd release of 2010. I'm a fan (still am) of the show. Yeah I love the scores to this show. I hope LLLR plans on releasing more music in the future. There's still plenty of great music that hasn't been released yet.

From what I remember, it suffered from pre-emps and was also moved around the schedule quite a bit. I once read an interview with John Wesley Shipp where he said years later he ran into someone from CBS who said, "You know, if we hadn't moved the show around like we did, it probably would have been on for years." A shame. I haven't seen it in years, but I remember it being very enjoyable.

I agree 100%.

I wonder when we are going to see big screen FLASH and WONDER WOMAN movies?

Only $10 at La La Land right now - adding this one to the upcoming order too!

For a mere $10 this set is a steal...

You get two CDs packed with memorable themes and thrilling action music. Any fan of Shirley Walker's music for BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES would love this set.

It pains me deeply that we won't get a Volume 2... this set is a terrific overview of the series, but you could easily fill two more CDs.
