ORDER “BATMAN FOREVER” NOW AT www.lalalandrecords.com

Presenting the latest release in our Expanded Archival Collection, renowned composer Elliot Goldenthal’s (ALIEN 3, DEMOLITION MAN, HEAT, A TIME TO KILL) original score to the 1995 WARNER BROS. blockbuster film BATMAN FOREVER, starring Val Kilmer, Tommy Lee Jones, Jim Carrey and Nicole Kidman, directed by Joel Schumacher. Goldenthal’s robust orchestral score honors The Caped Crusader with a powerful theme that is pitch perfect whether appearing as a stalwart march or brooding character study. The rest of the score follows suit, effectively supporting the film’s array of characters and large-scale action with complex, memorable themes and motifs. This remastered release has been radically expanded, more than doubling the running time of the original 1995 score soundtrack release. (The remastered 1995 score album is presented here as well). Produced and supervised by Elliot Goldenthal, produced for La-La Land Records by Neil S. Bulk and Dan Goldwasser, and mastered by James Nelson, this 2-CD limited edition release features exclusive, in-depth liner notes from film music writer John Takis and is a must-have for any film-music enthusiast. This is a Limited Edition of 3500 Units.

SCROOGED: LIMITED EDITION LLLCD 1195
Music by Danny Elfman
Limited Edition of 3000 Units

La-La Land Records and Universal Music present the world premiere release of acclaimed composer Danny Elfman’s (BATMAN, EDWARD SCISSORHANDS, WANTED, ALICE IN WONDERLAND) original score to Paramount Pictures’ 1988 holiday comedy SCROOGED, starring Bill Murray, Karen Allen, David Johansen and Bobcat Goldthwait, and directed by Richard Donner. An important score in Elfman’s cannon, SCROOGED was the composer’s first big-budget Hollywood score – and one that clearly anticipates his next, and most iconic work, BATMAN. For this wickedly funny and inventive update of the immortal Dickens Christmas classic, Elfman fashions a robust, sophisticated musical tapestry that expertly weaves together the film’s varied tones, which runs the gambit from wildly broad comedy and holiday cheer to gothic horror and emotional drama. Produced by Dan Goldwasser and mastered by Mike Matessino, this special release features bonus tracks, source cues and exclusive liner notes from film music writer Jeff Bond, with new comments from Director Richard Donner and others. This is a limited edition release of 3000 Units.

FAT MAN AND LITTLE BOY: LIMITED EDITION (2-CD SET) LLLCD 1196
Music by Ennio Morricone
Limited Edition of 3000 Units

La-La Land Records presents the world premiere release of acclaimed composer Ennio Morricone’s (THE MAN WITH NO NAME TRILOGY, THE THING, ONCE UPON A TIME IN AMERICA, THE MISSION, THE UNTOUCHABLES) original score to Paramount Pictures’ 1989 docudrama FAT MAN AND LITTLE BOY, starring Paul Newman, Dwight Schultz and John Cusack, and directed by Roland Joffe. Never before released in any format, Mr. Morricone’s hauntingly beautiful and complex orchestral score receives a definitive, 2-CD treatment that demonstrates the composer’s notable skill in emotionally interpreting what is at once an amazing and tragic chapter in mankind’s history – the birth of the atom bomb. Full of dramatic suspense, passion, sadness and gravitas, this is a notable, major Hollywood work by Morricone that is ripe for discovery – especially since some of it has never before been heard, as several cues and portions of others were dropped from the final cut of the film. Produced by Dan Goldwasser and mastered by Mike Matessino, this special 2-CD release includes source cues, alternates and exclusive, in-depth liner notes by film music writer Daniel Schweiger. This is a limited edition of 3000 units.

TORA! TORA! TORA!: LIMITED EDITION LLLCD 1197
Music by Jerry Goldsmith
Limited Edition of 2000 Units

La-La Land Records and FOX Music commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack with a special remastered re-issue of legendary composer Jerry Goldsmith’s (PATTON, THE OMEN, BASIC INSTINCT, THE EDGE) original score to 20th Century Fox’s 1970 Pearl Harbor docudrama feature TORA! TORA! TORA!, starring Martin Balsam, Joseph Cotten, E.G. Marshall, So Yamamura and Tatsuya Mihashi, and directed by Richard Fleischer, Kinji Fukasaku and Toshio Masuda. Mr. Goldsmith tackles this film’s serious examination of Pearl Harbor with a rich orchestral score that exemplifies his trademark musical genius, fierce intelligence and sympathetic understanding. Produced by Lukas Kendall and Nick Redman and edited and mastered by Mike Matessino, this special re-issue features all new art by Jim Titus and brand new, in-depth liner notes by film music writer Julie Kirgo. This is a limited edition of 2000 units.

SPACE ABOVE AND BEYOND: LIMITED EDITION (3-CD SET) LLLCD 1192
Music by Shirley Walker
Limited Edition of 3000 Units

Presenting the world premiere official release of renowned composer Shirley Walker’s (BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES, THE FLASH, FINAL DESTINATION) original score to the 20th Century Fox television series SPACE ABOVE AND BEYOND. Having rightfully earned a devoted cult following since its one and only 1995-1996 season, this landmark sci-fi action/drama’s influence can be seen on such properties as the feature film STARSHIP TROOPERS and the acclaimed BATTLESTAR GALACTICA reboot. Much of this series’ emotional and visceral impact is due to the full-blooded orchestral score Walker expertly fashioned to propel both the plot’s wartime action and all of its intense psychological drama. If you appreciate Walker’s work on BATMAN, THE FLASH, MYSTERY MEN and the like, this knockout 3-CD SET is for you! Produced by Mike Joffe and Nick Redman and mastered by Daniel Hersch at D2 Mastering this special release is limited to 3000 Units and features a 30 Page Booklet with in-depth, exclusive liner notes by film music writer Jeff Bond.

VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA: 50th ANNIVERSARY LIMITED EDITION LLLCD 1187

Composers Paul Sawtell and Bert Shefter (FASTER PUSSYCAT, KILL KILL, HAWAIIAN EYE, VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA TV SERIES) create a thrilling orchestra score to this hit feature, which would spawn the classic TV series of the same name. Produced by Nick Redman and remastered by Mike Matessino, this special limited edition release features both all-new artwork and exclusive, in-depth liner notes by film music writer Randall D. Larson. While the music content of this CD is the same as the FSM release, it has been remastered and the damaged track fixed.

55 DAYS AT PEKING: LIMITED EDITION (2-CD SET) LLLCD 1184
Music by Dimitri Tiomkin
Limited Edition of 2500 Units

La-La Land Records and Sony Music presents the remastered and expanded 2-CD SET of legendary composer Dimitri Tiomkin’s (SHADOW OF A DOUBT, GIANT, RIO BRAVO, THE OLD MAN AND THE SEA) score to the 1963 motion picture epic 55 DAYS AT PEKING, starring Charlton Heston, Ava Gardner and David Niven, directed by Nicholas Ray. Tiomkin’s robust orchestral score, regarded as one of his finest works, soars with excitement and boundless creativity. Expanded by well over an hour beyond its original LP release, this comprehensive re-issue contains additional material that was not used in the final cut of the film. Produced by Didier C. Deutsch and Mark G. Wilder, and mastered by Mark G. Wilder from recently discovered Sony Music vault elements, this release is a must for all golden age score enthusiasts. The handsome 24-Page booklet contains exclusive, in-depth liner notes by film music writer Frank K. DeWald. This is a limited edition of 2500 units.

MV,
How low are the numbers on Fat Man, Tora Tora, and Scrooged (and any others)? I'm gonna order BF and a few other Bat-titles, but I'll throw in a few of these newbies as well if they're on their way out soon. Limited funds this month so I must choose wisely.

Samples sound to be all different takes than on the album. Right on!!!!! And I love how everything flows so differently than before. Much more of a New Edition than many 'expanded' releases these days. Familiar melodies heard in such a different light = very exciting! SOOOO jazzed about this release =D

Edit: Disc 2 Track 3 is worth the price of purchase alone!
